Our problem is GWS have said thanks but no thanks. So he would go to GCS.

Something tells me he wouldn't care. Take his money and go surfing and we get zip.
But he loves Sydney, the culture, his family and friends, plus they have a tall coach.

Have they? The only thing I've heard on Tippett from the GWS camp is Sheedy comparing him to Paul Salmon.

Kennedy is worth more than both - you can't kick goals and take marks in your forward fifty unless someone has won the ball in the middle and Kennedy is in the two two or three in the comp. neither Tippett nor Roughhead are even close to being what he is worth.

Any number of players can gather around a contest to win the ball or receive it, but in the forward line only one player can mark the ball at a time.

BTW it's also a lot easier to find someone between 180cm and 190cm capable of playing footy than it is to find someone 200cm plus.

My personal assumption of this situation is that the trade will occur and the meeting was just the players gaining some reassurance on the situation. Premierships change clubs and increase bonds between players. The Swans are reportadly very high on their father son recruit Mitchell from last season and expect big things next season. He could cover the loss of a Luke Parker type.
Mitchell is a gun. Saw him play in a under 18 game in wa.

But he loves Sydney, the culture, his family and friends, plus they have a tall coach.
"And they have like, really cool, like really trendy, like really pukka hipsters there.... I'll so fit in... um, I'm so rich and cool...."

Sheeds was on Fox 2 weeks ago saying he had no room up forward with Paton and Cameron. May have changed his mind since he hasn't been able to resign his ruckman

im glad this thread has finally gone in a different, more constructive direction. This seems to coincide with the absence of sydney fan posts
I'm not sure if the flag has gone to their heads or they are always been a bunch of w***ers.

How about we wait to see what Sydney have to offer before jumping straight to the PSD. As TSR has repeatedly stated, the Swans management clearly rate Tippett and they have a good reputation for trading fairly. Just because a lot of their supporters are completely clueless when it comes to trading, does not imply that the same holds true for the club itself.
Yes this goes without saying, I thought that would be obvious but what would Sydney possibly have to offer? As premiers surely they won't depart with any of their premiership heroes and they will have last pick in the draft. Hardly an ideal setting for gaining much in return for our highest contracted player. Kurt couldn't have made it harder for us to get a balanced trade done.
But the most important factor is that we are not seen to be forced to trade at any cost due to the GC factor if it all falls through. We should make all parties aware that we are prepared to send this to the PSD if a suitable trade is not reached to our satisfaction. Put them on the backfoot from the start.

Yeh but they don't have a ruck if Giles goes. C'mon Sheeds draft him and make him work his arse off.

Interest in reid from collingwood, rohan and parker victoria.
Too early though to know if it will happen give me some time
If there are sparks of interest for Rohan and Parker then I'm disappointed if they are not from us.
Rohan, given the club doing their due diligence on his injury, is exactly the type of player that we need. He was drafted #6 and I would think given development and then injury setback would still be worth a top 10 pick.
Luke Parker has been talked about a not filling our needs, especially with Crouch coming in next year. However I still think he is only 19, has played 32 games and has had some stand out matches, especially this year. He will be a top mid and I keep thinking that we probably could squeeze one more very good ball winner into our midfield.

Sheedy is a sly old goat. Never believe a word he says, because he's always working an angle you haven't seen yet.

Agree. Our focus will probably still be on getting a backup ruckman, another key defender, and possibly another tall forward. But there is still definitely room for another mid or two. By the way, sorry to digress, but will Tambling get delisted? Or will we honour his 3-year contract rather than paying him out.

I agree with most of what you are saying but the PSD bit worries me. We will have room in our cap to get a good player but we will need picks to get it done.

If he goes to the PSD and we get nothing then how do we get the KPP we want (and have the cap for). Lets not bite off our nose here.

The other thing is if he dose go through to the PSD he could still get through to Sydney. Ball got to collingwood 3 years ago for nothing.

Ball got through in the main draft, not the PSD, but only because no-one else wanted him due to injury concerns. Everyone will want Tippett with the only sticking point being his asking wage.

On a positive note its great to hear faith mentioning GHS. This lad is all class on and off the field. Very highly rated by the cats so will be tough to extract him.

Not much senior footy but was a speculative pick straight out of pembroke 1st 18 so was always needing some time to adjust. Cats have reserves team so have had luxury of grooming him as a midfield leader.

At recent club function bartel named him as cats most important young player in terms of leadership potential.

Capped a development year in 2012 with VFL GF medal. Big things expected in 2013.

On plus side he has strong relationship with sando and of course strong family and social ties in adelaide. Would be a great get for us and stoke we obviously see his potential and are chasing him:

I'd believe the exact opposite.

If he says he doesn't want Tippett then he almost certainly does. If it does come to the PSD (unlikely) he'd want to trump the Suns.

He obviously isn't as valued as much though cos he's not on 1 million per year!
He may be a better player but he's not as important to structure. If he was of more value then sydney wouldnt trade him.

This.

I just can't see Sheedy letting somebody like Tippett slide through to GC for nothing. Would never happen.
