Tex loves the Crows. Grew up supporting them, and whilst technically Broken Hill is in NSW, it may as well be an SA country town (I think they actually run on SA time haha). I think he basically recruited himself to the Crows, after sending a highlights package of himself to the club. :D
I used to fly in to Broken Hill for work. Someone said that while its in NSW they classify it as an SA town because its closer to Adelaide than Sydney (like 500km to Adelaide and 1100km to Sydney).

Correct. It operates on CST and has Adelaide radio and I understand a huge Crows supporter base which drives regularly to Adelaide for matches - so yes it's Crows territory.

Apparently we are looking at Jordan Russell. If he and Slattery comes back Westies might go that extra place next year. With a new coach of course.

Has anyone heard. Are there meetings scheduled for today. And are they planning to tell us anything

Seriosly what would some of the se coaches know. mickan moved like a giraffe maybe thats why he liked McGreggor. I have some mates who played league football and have even coached. Know very little about the game just used their positions to get the job , but their view of the game is poor. Some people are poor football judges

Yeah, He came up with two players at 16 he thought would be good, one of whom played 200 very good games for Adelaide while the other has been one of the greats of the comp. Fifteen other clubs could have taken either and missed both and so because he got them the wrong way around he doesn't know talent. BTW the other 15 players taken by clubs in that 17 year old allowance played a grand total of zero games between them while the 2 players we identified and chose between have played about 500, don't think we can really say we stuffed up there.

From what FAITH has said, it is a complicated process that will take time to come to fruition. We are just going to have to be patient. I think their first meeting was probably them telling us what they were willing to give, and us telling them they'll have to do better. I think the ball is firmly in Sydney's court.

This will drag for weeks but no ones going anywhere so looks like being a long slog.
Just hope we don't have the entire crew on this wasting time that could be spent getting other important deals done. I realise we may need some of the exchange picks from this deal to rollover to other clubs during this period but really need to get a move on before the well runs dry.

Are you suggesting that it's too much, or too little? He was pick #37, 2 years ago, in a fairly weak draft. Since then he's only played 3 AFL games. There is absolutely nothing to indicate that his value has increased to the point where he is worth more than pick #22 - if anything pick #22 is probably paying overs.

It doesn't matter where he was picked in what draft. I don't know why people keep brining it up, it's irrelevant. Rory Laird was a rookie pick and hasn't played a game, let's trade him for pick #99.

If it wasn't before it is now thanks to Walker :D

Dennis-Lane's name was mentioned on SEN as being offered up by Sydney for the Tippett trade. Swans obviously have a sense of humour... I'll give 'em that.

The only reason he would not have been delisted is that he must be contracted for one more year.

Not quite tall enough.
Not quite quick enough.
Not quite strong enough.
Can kick straight though.

Micky wont let him go
I heard Dumb & Dumber interviewing Stephen Silvagni whom is the recruiting and List manager at GWS. The two questions they asked at the end were:
1. Whom in your view is the best talent not current on an AFL list. Silvagni's answer was can I give you three players and then he said J Toumpas goes alright
2. Whom is a player currently on an AFL List whom we havent seen yet who we should watch out for . The answer was young Mitchell from the Swans.
With Mitchell, Luke Parker & G Rohan to be the prime movers in years to come in Sydneys midfield i'm sure there is something the Swans could give us for Tippett. Unfortunately how much Silvagni rates him I dont think it will be Mitchell whom was a father son selection.

Not only that, the Crows didn't show that much interest to start with and a couple of other clubs came knocking (Collingwood and someone?) and he rung the Crows back up and said you guys better sign me now or else I'm going to take one of these other offers, haha.

Got to love Fantasia.... Had a great eye for talent

ADELAIDE'S trade talks with Sydney for defecting key forward Kurt Tippett amounted to no more than a cup of coffee yesterday.
And the prospect of the Swans offering up out-of-favour forward Jesse White has fallen flat on the Crows.
Sydney must now buy drinks elsewhere around the AFL to find draft picks and/or players to satisfy the Crows.
Adelaide list manager David Noble and his Sydney counterpart Kinnear Beatson met yesterday, but the Swans offered nothing significant to advance Tippett's preferred move to Sydney.
"At this point, there is nothing to say," said Noble.
Adelaide officials were still expecting the Tippett trade to drag on as Sydney seeks a piggyback partner offering players or draft picks.
White does not hold instant appeal. The fellow Queenslander has fallen behind at Sydney where the ruckman-forward played just three games this season - the last in Round 7 against Richmond at the MCG.
Since being a fifth-round draft pick (No. 79) from Southport in 2006, the 24-year-old has played 56 AFL games and kicked 53 goals - all inferior numbers to Tippett.
Sydney's preference to protect its premiership players from the trade talks stops a quick deal with Adelaide.
The Crows would accept losing Tippett in return for 26-year-old defender Heath Grundy, a rookie selection from SANFL club Norwood.
Adelaide would accept a like-for-like deal that delivers them 21-year-old key forward Sam Reid.
Sydney premiership defender and former Crow Martin Mattner last night sidestepped the question on how the Swans feel about reports of Tippett being offered $1 million a season.
There have been claims of senior Sydney players taking issue with the rush on Tippett and how his salary could challenge the team culture.
"If we get him, that would be great," said Mattner.
"But I leave (trade issues) to the management and coaches."
Adelaide has confirmed its interest in Greater Western Sydney and former Port Adelaide-listed ruckman Jonathan Giles in trade talks.
"For our needs, considering Tippett is not there to support Sam Jacobs, Giles works for our needs," said Noble.
"So there is interest in him."

Such a long-winded way of saying "nothing happened".

If we do get GHS and he is as good as some believe, I can't comment as I've never seen him, and we play Crouch, which 2 midfielders make way?
I would suggest that Crouch will probably start in Doughty's old position, in defence, for a year or two as he develops. I have high hopes for him in the mid-long term, that he will become one of the great midfielders of his generation, but I think it's a bit much to expect him to do it right from Day 1.

GHS would be fighting with quite a few of our younger mids (plus Martin - who is too old for the "young" tag) - Laird, Kerridge, Brown, Riley, pick #4 ;).

I think much depends on what other deals happen during trade week, noting that most of our list is currently contracted for next year - Tippett & L. Thompson being the only exceptions. There were rumours earlier that Geelong were interested in Douglas, which had Carl doing backflips of joy. I'm also hoping that Martin & Jaensch might be traded, though I have yet to hear of any clubs expressing interest in this pair (much to my complete lack of surprise). There's still 2 1/2 weeks left in the trade period, so let's just wait and see what eventuates.

I know you want this to happen, but remember Reid signed a 5 year contract this year, and has just played in a flag. The likliehood of this happening would be remote IMO, to say the least.
Not to mention the fact that Adelaide must surely be looking for a pick inside the top-10. Picks 17, 18 & 22 just won't cut the mustard.
