If he's worth pick 4 then why not keep him. Admittedly I know nothing about him.:p
But posters here are saying he is an inside mid, while we really need an outside mid (hence Toumpas)

On that point, why include a Melb club, and not GWS for pick 3? Again it depends where he sits in relation to the other blokes in this years draft...

I like the idea of on-trading him for an early pick if it meant one of the SA guys at pick 3 or 4. (assuming any Mitchell deal happens).

Probably being GWS could take a Sydney player uncontracted anyway so they wouldn't bother giving up important picks.

Besides they'd still be pissed we got Crouch for a dud pick.

Sorry but Tom Mitchell would be a NO - too much of a flight risk.

We should be adding GWS or a third Victorian club for a high draft pick.

Look, I know absolutely nothing about GHS (which is why I've kept out of that discussion) but simply looking at his draft position and games played is misleading. Sometimes a player can be dominating the seconds, and show clearly that they have a strong AFL future, but for whatever reason just aren't quite getting a regular AFL game yet. Think of Walker in 08 or Sloane in 09. Yes, I am aware those two examples are of players in their first year, but that's besides the point. Sometimes a player has reached a stage where they've put everything together and demonstrated that they have legitimate class and they're just waiting for their opportunity to show it on the big stage.

No idea if GHS falls into this category or not, but it's too simplistic to disregard him simply because Geelong haven't given him regular games yet.
I'm not disregarding him at all. Nowhere have I said that he won't make it, or that he's a bad player. All I'm saying is that I see no reason why he should be worth more than pick #22 based on his previous draft position and subsequent achievements.

Ignoring the complex draft deals here's a simple trade. It might be seen as unders a bit but the Crows aren't looking for a like for like player for Tippett.

GWS - Gain: Pick 22 Lose: Giles
Sydney - Gain: Tippett Lose: Pick 22
Adelaide - Gain: Giles Lose: Tippett

GWS can use one of their 6 first round draft picks to pick up a new ruck or more likely trade for an experienced ruck. Personally I'd like to pick up B Grundy as a ruck/key forward in the draft but he'll probably be long gone by the time pick 19 comes around - most likely GWS which would leave GWS with both Giles and Grundy which is a lose/lose for Adelaide.

Are there any key/midsize defenders in the SANFL worth pursuing outside the radar of interstate clubs?
And you have the gall to call yourself an Adelaide supporter? I call troll, troll, troll.

It just reeks of bullshit to me... WA kid, father-son, moves to Sydney... A year later packs his bags and off to Adelaide...

Why a flight risk? The guy grew up in Victoria, spent a few years in WA and represented the Sandgropers in the U-18s, then was drafted by Sydney. He has no home!

Well he does and it's where his parents live. Since he only spend one year in WA and the rest of his life before that in Victoria, Victoria would be home.

It's not like he was am army brat who moved every 12 to 24 months.

Maybe but they have to trade someone and they don't seem keen to trade any premiership players and he seems to be the next best pick as Rohan is still an unknown risk with his leg injury.

SOS from GWS was on TR and said if the deal was right they would have no problems in trading pick 2.
Get Mitchell to GWS (still lives in Sydney) and we are assured on Jimmy.

For pick 2, I'd chuck in our pick 19

Sydney - Tippett

Adelaide pick 2 and 22

GWS - Michell and pick 19

this is simply untrue, at the end of last year i had a long chat to James Fantasia. At that stage each club was allowed one 17 year old, so 15 other clubs also over looked Pav. What JF said was that even if we couldve picked another 17 year old or another 2 17 year olds that Pav wouldnt have been one of them, one wouldve been Chris Chubb from west adelaide and cant remember the other one. People forget that as 17 year old Pav only stood at 188cm, where Kenny was a lot taller. Also Kenny played about 155 more games than any other 17 year old taken in that draft.

Not true either....As Maaca and I have said it was between McGregor and Pav. Confirmed by Pav himself as he was told this by Reid

That's exactly what I was thinking... probably throw the odd pick in for Giles as well. GWS rate Mitchell really highly... heard SOS say as much last night.
