Had some info this morning from a work colleague. Given his title and reputation he wouldn't make this story up so don't howl me down, you don't have to believe this.
My colleague was on the bus last night and a well groomed gentlement was on the phone talking about $kirt. The person he was talking to was named "Steven" and he mentioned his name a number of times. The gentleman on the phone was giving advice to "Steven" and telling him to hold his ground and if it comes "to it" send him into the draft. Also mention Sydney aren't going to pay him more than $800k per year so dont worry.
We can only assume the bloke giving advice was some sort of legal counsel and he was talking to Triggy.
Sounds like a bit of a stalemate between the 2 clubs which is why we havent heard anything yet.
$kirt way well end up in the draft!!!

It is NOT rubbish, it is a simple fact. As it stands, Sydney want to offer their best pick which happens to be pick 22. Now to improve that, they need to be shopping around players that they feel are expendable - to teams that a) have a need for said players and b) have a lower draft pick than them. Put yourself in their shoes - if Adelaide had won the premiership last year, you'd be furious if they wanted to trade out any of our premiership team. So it's a difficult situation for them, and is why this is all taking so long. If it were pick 22 and that was it (or the addition of White as the steak knives) then they would have said that 2 weeks ago and left it at that. Clearly they have been told that isn't acceptable and they need to work something else out - hence the two weeks.

Until they start offering up players like Mitchell or Rohan, they're not being serious about the deal and we shouldn't even entertain it.

How many of you guys have emailed Phil Harper? I know it will achieve little but he needs to be told what this decision will do to our standing in the competition.

We can not do this for we will go down as the worst traders in history. We have had a couple of wins but we've had some shockers, Modra, Rehn, Bode, Clark, Carey, Hudson, Tambling, Gunston and now possibly Kurt. Not once have we threatened to send someone to the PSD, always playing the nice guy and mostly coming off second best.

Emailed Harper, Trigg, Chapman, Smart, Noble and Sanderson in recent hours. Awaiting response...all standard email formats exept for Smart whose email has bounced back

Suggest others get in ASAP if wanting to make a point

Pick 6. He then went on to play 118 games for the Crows, leading our ruck division for 7 years. Well and truly worth it, every single day of the week. If all you look at is pick #6 and say - gee, we paid too much, then that's just poor thinking. You need to look at what we got out of it - and 118 games is more than enough to justify using that pick.

No way on earth he belongs on that list of shameful trades and overpayments.

Very concerned with what the future will hold if this deal goes through.
How good would next year look with Bock, Davis, Gunston and Tippett all in the side? Our trading is the weakest in the comp!

Bock is injury ridden..... Next year he will be regaining form not hitting his straps.
Gunston would be day dreaming of home not applying himself.
Davis has effectively been replaced.

Davis and Bock situations are very unlikely to be repeated.

We did ok out of the Gunston trade but it exposed us as "nice guys" and Bulcher took advantage this year. We need to kill that perception now.

Tippett trade is a unique situation for the club, in that we have the chance to "man up" and take the tough decision instead of roll over.
