I'm not happy with the prospect of receiving 22 + White more than anyone else is, but I don't understand why people think 22 + nothing is better than 22 + White.

We're going to be in the run for a premiership next year. White may not be a great player but at the very least he's an experienced depth player who has a small chance of contributing something towards our 2013 flag chase.

Pick 40 or 50 or whatever we'd get to spend instead would almost certainly contribute nothing.

Because White signed a very healthy three year deal that still has a year to run and Sydney would love to get him and his 300k contract off their books.

By accepting him as a trade we're effectively helping them to free up $300k in cap space by taking a list clogger off their hands that they no longer want.

I this case though I'm not sure anyone can do better for us. We have a player leaving our club and he and his manager who is mates with the Sydney CEO (No conflict of interest there) are intentionaly screwing us over. The PSD threat is only any good if someone is going to pick him up before Sydney, and apparently they arent. We dont hold any cards. Sydney have come in with their annual welfare cheque and no one can match them. We just have to make the best of what we have, and **** them over when the pendulem (Sp?) swings.

Head Coach at Glenelg - 2 years
Asistant Coach at AFC - 6 years

And ... he gave us Brad Crouch.

IIRC he was our midfield coach, and then was shifted (side-ways) into 'list management'.

List management is one thing, negotiating trades (like selecting draft picks) is a specialist skill.

So are you saying coaching skills qualify a person as a negotiator?

As I said, I am willing to suspend judgement, but for our club to be strong we need to have the right people in the right positions, appointed on merit. And I still don't know what his qualifications and experience are in negotiating skills.

Noble was one of three assistants that Craig brought in at the beginning of his reign, with Hamilton and Pyke. He ended up being our forward line coach for much of that time and really didn't do terribly much to be writing home about. He was then shifted sideways to be our list manager, allowing the highly qualified Mark Bickley to be our forward line coach...

Because I'm getting sick to ****ing death of getting labeled those things because I can follow trends.I have the ability to read between the lines and not get fooled by hope or blind faith (no pun intended). Trends happen for a reason, the media are not idiots - as much as you would like to believe and they do have very good sources, in fact they are better than the ones on here. The reason I have very good faith in us getting bent over and and accepting unders for Kurt Tippett is the fact that no where has there been any serious talk about a Sydney player being linked to any other club. Reid was rumored to being linked by Collingwood but the only placed that was seemed, was on Big Footy. No media outlet ran it, trade radio never mentioned it and as soon as Tom Mitchell name was linked to a move - the swans quashed it. Like good PR departments should do. Stop any rumor before it can grow.

The only player linked to a move away from Sydney is Jessie White and with all due respect to the man, his name should not be linked anywhere to a top 90 pick. If he's good enouhg to be part of a deal, why hasn't he even been considered for a AFL game in 10 odd weeks? no finals, no GF and no nothing. Yet, we are doing a medical on him as a replacement player for one of our most valuable key forwards. Get ****ed. I'm pissed off.

Wellingham, Daws, McIntosh, Monfries and now Rivers have all had there named linked to other AFL club in the hope of a move and that trade has occurred. The media get wing of deals as clubs leak this stuff.

We are keeping it a big secret because they know the deal is bullshit. It's a huge secret as they know the members will get pissed off and react in a very negative way. Last year, they has good news and that was leaked, why not the same this year? why, they have NOTHING but bad news. A horse shit deal is on the table. I know it, you know it and so do they so stop telling me I'm acting like a negative Nancy becasue I have passion for this football club.

Does anyone seriously believe Adelaide or Sydney don't have any club leaks? of course they do but guess what....no leaks have occurred because no players are moving. That is the cold hard truth behind it. No draft picks are getting exchanged apart from pick 22 and no 3rd club is getting involved as we would have heard about it by now. So either provide me and other with some cold hard evidence that we will gain a good deal or bugger off.

Lets say they have all said no, where does that leave the club? They may/should have bluffed and Sydney might have called it. Sydney might be content with either having Tippett or not having Tippett therefore have taken a low risk by calling the bluff and continued offering sfa.

We don't need to make any further list deletions at this stage. Callinan's upgrade to the senior list counts as one draft selection. There's some debate as to whether or not Crouch's does as well.

In any case, we still have 2x live selections + Callinan's upgrade. That satisfies the AFL's mandated minimum of 3 picks.
