Kurt Tippett trade talks between Adelaide and Sydney still on hold

DAY 14 of the Kurt Tippett saga has closed with Adelaide list manager David Noble summing up talks with Sydney by saying: "No progress".

The Crows and Swans have until Friday to end one of the slowest-moving and longest-running saga in AFL trade history.

"We're exploring those third-party options all the time - we're looking at all avenues to get the best deal for our club,'' Noble said today, while maintaining that trade talks could drag until the final hour on Friday.

"And in the last moments you find things that were not possible early in the trade talks do unfold. A coach will suddenly agree to release a first-round draft pick."

We're sounding resolute :thumbsu:

i've been thinking along the same lines. I think the end result will come a bit from left field. Admittedly, probably still something that has been mentioned here at least once or twice (because this thread has covered every possible option over 12000 posts). Still think Rohan and 23 is fair as I stated yonks ago in the comparison with Brad Ottens.
More in line with parker and 23

Get the lube ready.

We need to get ready to bend over and be jolly rogered.

That time is getting closer.
If I'm reading correctly into his cryptic post it's what's been said to the other players during their negotiations.

Have to agree, Brisbane and the Suns have moved on other players and spent cash, GWS would be the only credible option of the 3 mentioned due to Sydney's procrastination .

Not sure how you arrive at that ......what has GC done to move on

I agree if the Martin trade happens then Brisbane have moved on ......but i am thinking Brisbane might just go slow on that trade just in case

This board has some amazing posters, with great internet intellect. I would love to see a start to finish summary of Rucci's articles over the trade period, ending with his report on what we actually do get for Tippett. He has sounded so sure of himself in each article, yet now there is still 'no progress'? Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I think it would make a number of so called 'experts' look like anything but; Rucci included

I'll say absolutely nothing otherwise something wood have leaked .......AP reporters have no idea what the trade status is ...it's a tight ship and club wouldn't risk anything by keeping players abreast of negotiations

Just simply would not be happening

Not exactly true

The Suns ave gained a defender from the Hawks (not exactly big money) and released Caddy and maybe Hickey and Toy to go as well, while Brisbane have stated that they was always going to do the Maloney deal even if Yippett chose Brisbane as his preferred club

Tippett wont be playing for Adelaide in 2013 that's certain. So if a deal cannot be reached between Sydney and Adelaide by the trade deadline this Friday, Adelaide will most likely put him in the national draft meaning any team can draft him. If this happens which teams do you think would show an interest in him? id have to say Gold Coast, Brisbane and GWS and maybe carlton.

Unless I misread it, somebody earlier was posting comments by Tredrea saying that the AFC agreement with $kirt was that if he wasnt signed by a particular date that the AFC would trade him to the club of his choice. If that actually is what was said then I hope that same line hasnt been used with anybody else recently contracted.

I think you are being paranoid. No one else has hung us out to dry like Kurt did.

Richmond have room in their cap?

surely we wouldnt be that stupid. are players really so desperate to leave that we start putting clauses in contracts giving players all the power to eek out another year or two on their contract.

If i was a player accepting a reduced contract to fit Tippett under the cap i would be walking in with my hand outstretched asking where the rest of my money is though.

It's fair because he's a player that fits our need perfectly and IMO with the rise of Jetta .......Sydney would not be left with a hole if he left

Whilst it has been said he's prepared to move .....we have no idea as it's probably rumor and he probably hasn't even had a conversation with Sydney about it

Why are we even talking about this? It's like talking about what you're going to spend with the lottery money you win on Tuesday night
I'm not going to win the lottery? Dang, all that time wasted in hope.

Yep those 4 ........maybe Freo as well since they were the first to pitch the $1M at Cloke

We have bought in Murphy from the Hawks and re-signed, Mav, Stanley and Patrick. Plus taken Clay Cameron as a pick. Not huge money but probably enough to rule us out and it also fills our roster.

For Brisbane they have grabbed Malony (think that's right) so cash is also going to be an issue for them. Plus I don't think either the Suns or Brissie are done trading yet.

The only way this could happen would be for the Crows to stop negotiations with Sydney now so the Suns and Brissie could trade for space and free up cash. Neither team is going to sit around and wait "just in case" you have to strike now as by Friday the door will be shut. I have no doubt the Swans realise this too and are playing it to their advantage.

I have my reasons for saying this - but this is not going to end up good for us. ATM there is not a white knight to save us.

But who knows a few days is a long time in football.

This is hilarious, but western Bulldogs have freed up a ton of cap space by trading Lake.

They really need a kpf as well.... That might be a little funny seeing him training at the witten oval.

I'd say we trade our pick 19 to a team that wants him so they can take him in the ND before Sydney.
