GWS, " The home of the Money Hungry Flogs".

What a spine, Fi$cal Phil at Full Back, Tempted Tom in the guts and Surfing $kurt at Centre Half Forward. They will have to play their fathers off the interchange bench and then fill the team with first round draft picks.

What is the travel time from Curl Curl to the Blacktown International Sports Park? Clearly it will have to be a very early surf Kurtley. As they say on the Northern Beaches, the tide is turning.

I reckon they would take him back, but would be making sure he isn't the highest paid player at the club anymore

Do you honestly think all the playing group would forgive and forget???? I say there is zero chance of that happening.
You then risk a possible divide in the playing group because of this C%#T. Far far too much water has gone under the bridge for our playing group to forgive. This bridge has well and truly been burnt.
NO F%&#KING WAY

Can someone clarify this, my understanding of how Draft's work is limited. This is a scenario I've come up with;
  • Tippett informs his manager he wants $1m per season
  • After his trade fails to make place during the Trade period, he is now into the November Draft
  • After all the controversy Sydney say "heck it, this bloke is trouble. Tell his management we're not interested"
  • GWS have picks 1-3, so Tippett is an obvious choice for his "apparent" skill (I use that term loosely)
  • So now that Sydney are out of favour with Tippett, and GWS have say only $700K per season in there salary plus the first 3 Draft picks, I'm assuming Tippett has now no choice where he goes? i.e taking the low ball offer

At the same time if they can afford him why wouldn't they? And I can't understand how they couldn't afford him. They would have front loaded their recruits massively last year and the rest of the team is full of kids. The worst case scenario for them is they trade him in a year and get a decent trade.

IMO they would be mad not to take him. Next stop in the Karma Bus would be a Crows 2013 premiership. That would be the sweetest flag of all time.

Geez I so hope there is some wheeling and dealing behind closed doors. I hope Vladamir tells Kurt he has 2 options:
1) Go to GWS or(being punished but still able to play)
2) Get delisted (being punished and not able to play)

What do you say Tony Kurt........deal or no deal???

I will have an involuntary orgasm if he ends up at GWS!!!!

It doesn't quite work that way. Tippett gets to nominate his contract conditions before the draft. So he might say he'll only accept an offer of at least $750k/year, for a minimum of four years. Then, any club that wants to take him must agree to those terms.

Obviously it's possible to price yourself entirely out of the market, so Tippett would want to be pretty sure he's not asking for a price Sydney aren't willing to pay. But if Sydney make their offer too low, somebody else might be willing to step in and scoop him up.

Put simply, if Sydney decide they're only willing to pay him a modest salary, they won't get him.

I think Sydney are on record saying they still want him at their agreed terms. Anyone who wants him will have to match the 4 years totalling nearly $4mill.

No if it comes down to it I hope the Crows don't keep him. The bridge and been burned and pissed on. Hindsight is very revealing and what it reveals is a very suspect performance by one Kurt Tippett in the Qualifying Final against Sydney, it wasn't so much that he was completely shit, he was, there was a complete lack of competitive effort. (The week before there was competitive effort). I remember the commentators discussing it during the game on the radio, and afterwards as well. Given what we know about the time frame of his discusses it raises some questions that I don't think have been asked by anyone, maybe he didn't consciously make an effort to throw the game, but still.

And if Sydney lose their concessions they could have a large chunk of their cap tied up with Kurt. Also they will be informing all those premiership players that their highest paid player isn't one of them. It's got to cause some angst.

If Kurt goes to GWS should we lobby the AFL for compo? This assuming we aren't in the deep end with the current scandle.

Think it's rediculous that GWS were able to pick up a second uncontracted player though the PSD.

Paladin I totally agree

I have said all along the media have made assumptions based on a email however in reality the AFC may have administered all payments above board

I would not be surprised if the Media have over cooked this one...
:eek: .....not our trusty, relaible, accurate media ......surely you're being a bit tough :p

I still hoping they'll get at least one thing right soon

Stated by rucci that Adelaide board not aware of deal .......now we hear it was in the board minutes
Does Rucci ever apologise for his ongoing blunders

How the hell is he pricing himself at $1m per season!!!

Just hypothetically ........if the email agreement WAS RESCINDED ......what does AFL do to compensate us for not allowing Tippett trade????

Thanks, that makes sense and has helped me understand better. But obviously if you've priced yourself out of the market, you're going to have to reduce your salary demands quick smart to get picked up? (speaking in general here)

He won't because Sydney don't have cap space now White has been retained .......if Bolton plays on that complicates the situation even more

Found it a little funny that Lachie Whitfield (this years number one pick) retweeted Sheedy's little comment about big Kurt...

If you nominate a salary that's higher than anyone is willing to pay, then you just won't get picked up at all. Obviously this is a bad idea so you'd make sure you'd spoken to the clubs in advance.

Let's assume they lose the extra $900,000 for the cost of living.

I can not see the AFL taking it away any time soon as it's not on the agenda and the only way it can be removed is by the AFL commission. I would assume it will take a 6 to 12 month process before that allowance is removed and by then - both Jude Bolton and Adam Goodes will be ready to retire. That's your $900,000 (if not more) gone straight away. Even with both of them on the veterans list that $900,000 will be easily removed.

I can not see that being an issue.

Hey guys, be careful what you are wishing for.

If the AFL doesn't find enough evidence in the Tippett extra $ affair to penalise us draft picks, then they won't be able to penalise Tippett either.

What that then means is that we have been severely disadvantaged by not being able to trade KT during the trade period.

KT will have been severely disadvantaged in not getting a fair go at being traded out to where he wants to go (although Sydney wasn't offering enough but that is another matter)

We being good lap dogs of Vlad will just accept we've been done over but rest assured KT will have the AFL in court over a number of possible angles all of which he would probably win.

So the AFL will be desperately now hoping there is sufficient evidence to penalise us and therefore KT as well. If they haven't they are in deep poo.

Looks like GWS are serious about drafting him but god knows why you would want to commit that much money over four years to such a bad egg amongst a nest of young impressionable kids. They would still be having a large chunk of their reducing salary cap being paid out to KT at a time they need all those $ to keep the 25 plus first round draft picks on their list. All other clubs will be circling GWS at the end of next year and beyond waving $ and the go home card.

This will be an interesting few days waiting to see what hard evidence Vlad's inquisitors come up with to justify their actions.

And I think KT would look perfect in orange, he is after all a big LEMON!

I know its Rowey but he raises a valid point in all this!

What if Kurnt realises just what he has done and says **** it, I want to stay with the Crows (highly unlikely I know).

The question is would we want him?

I suspect the answer would be HELL NO!

I was disappointed in his decision to leave, and I'm resigned to getting nothing for him, but I would be devastated if we took him back. If you want to leave a club fair enough, but not like he has. He is a disgrace.

Vlad said it will be reviewed. Sydney still have a bunch of good young players whose contracts will increase over time. If fitting a $1M salary was no problem then why can't all clubs do it. Besides Kurt's contract will be back ended so its going to be well over $1M in the final year of his contract.
