Well its going to be interesting to see if vlad has the seeds to stare tippett down if he tries this. I have never seen the draft nomination form but I'm assuming a player has to declare himself willing to go to any club. In which case the Afl should not acceot his nomination.

If they don't stand up to him then it compromises the whole system.

Won't be long before every top 20 kid will start threatening not to play unless their favoured club picks them.

Now come on.

Can we please compare apples with apples.

Lets look at the entire outcome of the trade and see if we were willing to say the same has Stengline or Johnson gone through to the Pre season draft. The outcome and time helps change opinions.

I imagine people would see both those trades very differently had we not received fair compensation.,

How dumb is Kurt Tippett if he thinks that he could leave the club for way under market value and this wouldn't piss everyone off royally? The supporters and his (former) team mates....

He must be an imbecile.

Cant nominate a team/city as that indeed is draft tampering. However, players can now nominate seperately for the national draft and the pre-season draft. Nominations for the national draft are un-conditional but nominations for the PSD allow for a player to nominate certain contract conditions such as $$. So I cant imagine KT nominating for the ND as he would have to accept minimum $$. Obviously he would nominate for PSD only where he could nominate a $4mill over 4 year requirement (if this is what sydneys offer actually was). This would have the effect of eliminating all clubs who were unable to meet that condition. So even if he doesnt end up at the club he wanted, he'd still get the contract he wanted.

how much cash have the lions got? i wonder if the are hush on still wanting tippett

I think for every club it comes down to GWS. If they want $kurt they have the money and the draft picks to get him. If they pass him then it is a little bit more up in the air.

I think if GWS don't take him then he will get to Sydney. We shall see in a few weeks time I guess.

I thought players could nominate a dollar figure and contract length in the National Draft. Wasn't that how Luke Ball scared off other clubs, by putting a big price on his head in the ND?

Looks like he can nominate salary in national draft too

When he nominates he also accepts the restraints for the good of the competition

Let me spell it out to you.

Ha hated living in Adelaide - full stop.

He didn't hate the club, players, administration or supporters - he hated the city of Adelaide, it's lifestyle and pace.

Sp before you go assassinating his character with little to no idea of what the hell your talking about, do your due diligence and understand why he's moving.

We all know Money has played a part but first and foremost, he wanted to leave Adelaide, also anyone in his circumstances (wanting to leave that city and was offered a 4 year $4,000,000) would do the same. If he was a "shattered man" about playing for GWS, why isn't he looking at signing with the Crows? why - he hates living in the city of Adelaide.

So after 18,775 post it's you who has no idea or your nothing but a self centered individual who is only seeing it for your own perspective.

Wooahh calm down precious.

Now how do you know any of the above heresay to be true, did Mr Rucci tell you??

Are you part of the inner sanctum??

So before going all internet pyscho how about you ask yourself the same questions...you know nothing other than what you have been fed by the media, lines that he and his manager would have cooked up weeks ago, don't be so gullible.

He wanted it all. The money and the fame and success, well guess what if he gets picked up by GWS he will get the money but he will not get the success for some time and that drive out "back" will be causing him some pain.

Just like you I am taking a guess...and my guess is that right now he would not be jumping for joy!!

so there is about 1% chance that the reported "Swans or retire" threat is real.

to do so does a few things, but 2 that i dont think have been mentioned yet are;

1. tells every club (including the swans) that he is really just playing for himself, and doenst really love the sport at all. (minor issue)

2. actually provides incentive for ANY club to select him in the PSD. it's just one less good player to compete against.

what a moron! (i'll let you make up your mind if i'm talking about $kurt or the the reporter)

Hey thanks mate that's brilliant.

So yes he has to declare he is available and that there is no reason not to be selected by any club.

So how could his form be accepted?
They would accept it because Rowie and Cornsie are full of s**t.

Maybe if Sheedy or Vossy had said it we could believe it but 5aa ??

O

Looks like he can nominate salary in national draft too

Does this apply to all players? Can Toumpas nominate $600,000 per year as his salary, in the hope that he slides to us? Surely clubs would have tried to do this before if it was possible?

Then we pay him $600k for the first two years of his contract per his request, and 200k for the next couple of years

Rule doesn't apply to draftees;

4.5.2.1 Offer and acceptance

such a Player in his second year), may specify in the
nomination lodged pursuant to Rule 4.4.3 the Football

No, only players who have played longer than 2 years

Time to get over it and move on.

Alex are you for real? Or are you continuing some ongoing joke that I've missed?

A thread that is full of idiots posting crap (apparently) so you believe the best solution is to go into that thread and ... post ... repeatedly ... over and over again ... about how crap it is ... and how everyone ELSE posting is stupido ... then out of nowhere pull the "time to get over it and move on." gem.

Alex, it's like a TV mate - if you don't like it - just change the channel ... if you choose to sit there and scream at the TV about how crap it is - that is also your choice, but don't expect the other people in the room to have much empathy.
