Yep, exactly someone from the AFL is leaking to Caro what AFC charges are before formally charging AFC.It has to be a combination of info provided by the Tippett camp and a leak from the AFL.
Caro's whole presentation implies that we made the first approach on the 2nd round draft pick clearance deal, which is illogical in that the only beneficiary is Tippett. That wouldn't be coming from the AFC - just the reverse.
The worrying aspect is the AFL leaks because Caro has been publishing info on further AFL actions against the Crows, before the Crows knew about it.
I can only assume that he means that it was detrimental to Kurt's mental health - that he was depressed because he was here.

This would be easy enough to demonstrate with medical reports. I think there has been noise in the media that Tippett has suffered from Depression, so any evidence of having attending therapy, being prescribed prescription medication or a hospital admission could substantiate the claim. However, if none of this happened you would have to be doubtful about the supposed effect on his mental health and how severely depressed he might have been.
Jaysus. It just keeps coming. What next? Dodgy dealings to get Dangerfield to sign on this year?http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-ne...-sponsors-cash-to-tippett-20121114-29c9a.html
Once again, I would love to know Caro's source - someone @ the AFL, Adelaide or Tippett camp is very loose lipped.
That actually makes a lot of sense. It's not that illogical that we would have made the first approach. I can imagine an emergency meeting between Reid and Trigg where they talked about how Tippett had told them he wants to go back to GC eventually, and how he had expressed concern that his opportunity to go there might dry up if he missed this window.
Then, lightbulb! How about we promise to trade him there. But what if GC refuse to play ball and only offer us a junky player or something? Let's put in a minimum acceptable level. Now, they could well have pick #1 so we can't say their first round pick. So let's go with their second and hope it doesn't come to that.
Certainly it's plausible. I suspect that Camp Tippett suggested it, but it's not impossible to imagine it originating with the Crows.

I have been trying so hard to remain positive through all of this, wanting to believe that a logical explanation will be put forward next week. I am losing hope.
Has Galbally elaborated what the detriment was? I originally assumed the detriment was Tippett facing possible deregistration, but it sounds as though he's indicating that it was detrimental to Kurt before any of this broke out.
It can't be monetarily, there is no way we paid less than other clubs were offering. He received sponsorship agreements, and unless he was going to go to Collingwood, Geelong or Sydney it can't be in terms of premierships.
I can only assume that he means that it was detrimental to Kurt's mental health - that he was depressed because he was here.

I believe its to do with the fact that kurt was gone, already out the door to gold coast on a much higher off still
Instead of respecting that we threw ourselves on the floor, crying, and sobbing "don't go. Puhhlease!! We'll change, its not you its me, we were so good together, please give us another chance waaaah" etc and then in our pleading we said "wait... We can do this, we can find a way..."
Etc so after being emotionally strong armed to accept our still lower offer, and give us a 3 yr pity f***, he now finds himself caught up in the mess of what we had to do to even get a lower contract to him
All in all, he was better off doing what be said he wanted to do - go to GC
that's the gist of it
I have always assumed that this was the way it happened. There is no reason for Tippett to add a clause that had him staying at a club he did not want to be at.
Starting to feel for the young players entering the AFL , Tippett managed to find both a club and a management firm with unethical people handling his contracts. That is a lot of pressure whether it turns out that Tippett is an ethical person or not.
I can't believe he would have signed without his manager/father advising him to do so
that's the gist of it
