Geez, GWS has sure put the wind up him. I wonder if they have told him they will be selecting him.

i think they have. afl would have GWS's back on this.

they will delay until he misses the deadline. if he goes the court route, he will get a 12 month man if not more. the afl will not like him taking it up to them

Apparently not. Heard a whisper on the vine today that there are some VERY unhappy players with the old Tipster throughout the AFL - but particularly at Sydney.

Is this because they are blaming his actions for the AFL opening up the bonnet on 3rd party deals

I'll bet they have. Sheeds isn't silly - Tippett gives him lots of options... not least the opportunity to stick it up Sydney... and wouldn't he love that! Sheeds knows after Tippetts initial tantrum and sulking during the time he is suspended, he'll get over it... $$$$

How has this changed from yesterday? Losing our 1st and 2nd picks this year? Hardly the end of the world. Again, not renewing membership for off field stuff really doesn't sit well with me.

It hasn't. It's exactly the same view I held yesterday.

Again, exactly! Have issues with Trigg, Harper Reid - WHOEVER, but don't take it out on the Club. Now, more than ever, they NEED YOUR SUPPORT. The boys need to know that we are still behind them. Send letters to the Board, ring in to radio complaining, but please, do not withhold your support for our boys.

Because the club doesn't listen. If I didn't renew my membership, I'd still go to every home game, one or two away games, all the finals and if by chance we made it to the GF, I would beg, borrow and steal to make sure I got a ticket. The boys wouldn't know any better.

But I will not continue to support such an arrogant and unaccountable off field setup. You can be arrogant if you're getting it right, but I'm fed up with being treated with contempt while the club lurches from crisis to crisis.

It would be one small voice, but it is the only form of protest I'm in a position to make.

Also with how he's treated the club (funnily enough). They think what he's done is a "dog act".

Well good for you! Of course it will mean jack shit if you don't actually write them a letter to let them know why.

This attitude shits me as do the groupies who like it when ever someone brings it up. It has nothing to do with ******* hindsight.

When a team cheats the salary cap, can they rely on hindsight if they dont win the flag or get busted? We entered into a dodgy deal, we screwed up.

Last year there were some of us stating if there was an agreement to do the trade to Brisbane. The club made the wrong call and now posters like you think its okay because in hindsight things might have worked out differently. Well guess what? They didnt, they ended up as many of us feared, screwed up.
So far we dont know all the facts. We just dont. if theres a settlement with the AFL we may NEVER know.

Claiming that the results were predictable when we dont even know the circumstances that brought us to where we are is ridiculous.

Sure, things look bad. Everyone goes on about losing our highest paid player for nothing... well that hasnt actually happened yet, hes still on our list.

The attitude that 'OMFG THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE AND BECAUSE OF WHAT HAPPENS IN THE FUTURE WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT HAPPENED IN THE PAST SACK TRIGG' shits me, so dont think youre alone finding something to be shitted about in a 900 page thread.

Isn't there a chance the AFL will have some restraint? They wouldn't want to damage the crows too heavily would they? With our good record, the possible league wide dodgy ASAs and the fact we have a harder time keeping some of our players here...

Or will they make an example?

I know the rules we broke are important ones to keep the integrity of the game, and we deserve some punishment obviously....but they won't butcher us will they? Really not sure what to make of it all.

Obviously a very busy day at Sportsbet. Or rather they just successfully got some free publicity.

I'm staggered at the amount of money that Sydney are offering Tippett. Quite frankly he's not worth it.

Let's reverse it. If Tippett was playing for another club I'd think we were mental to offer him that sort of money. He's a good player, and at times, a very good player. On rare occasions he can be a match-winner.

But seriously, he's just not a $900k per year player. I think that we were offering $750k to $800k which was plain ridiculous given his form of the last 2 years.

I know that they say a player is worth what the market will pay, but truly he's a $500k to $600k player at the very very tops.

If GWS don't pick him up it will be because they think his demands are at least 50% above his true worth.

As for his future team-mates at Sydney, should he get there, how will they feel as premiership winning players when they know that the new boy Tippett is getting twice as much as they do, and now that his demands have been published they will know to the cent rather than suspect or guess. I can't see that creating a harmonious team spirit at Sydney when heroes like Goodes and Bolton would have never seen money anywhere near what the inconsistent Tippett will be getting.

Sydney love to waffle on about their culture. They showed during the trade period that their alleged culture doesn't apply to trading and if Kurt gets through to them and they take Kurt on at the money he is specifying, then IMO even if it did exist in the past, human nature and resentment will take over and that culture will be seriously damaged.

It would be hilarious if the AFL de-registered him for breach of his CBA agreement if they were forced by the court to allow him to join the swans.

What part of my post are you saying this applies to? As a direct result of our own administration's actions, we have lost one of our best players for nothing, having turned down deals of value in previous years. There was also losing Bock, the opportunity cost of keeping Tippett by this dodgy deal 3 years ago. And now we've copped a draft sanction (albeit self imposed).

All I am saying is that the people responsible need to be held accountable, regardless of the outcome of the AFL hearing. Do you disagree? And what does Captain Hindsight have to do with anything, besides being a cute meme which doesn't really apply here?
As a direct result of our administrations actions we missed out on Pavlich at least twice.

As a direct result of our administrations actions we have dangerfield walker sloane et al playing for the club.

in hindsight, yes we lost bock when we could have lost tippett, no tippett didnt win us a premiership, yes we backed ourselves to keep tippett and we failed. Youre saying that because of the way things turned out that couldnt have really been forseen (sydney offer pick 23 and rohan, noone ever knows any of this ever happened) people that havent yet had any opportunity to contest the charges be punished?

Youre also claiming what our penalty will be before weve even been tried. So far we havent lost tippett for nothing, hes still on our list. we gave up two average picks in a shallow draft. We got a compo pick for bock which i think helped us get Crouch (could be wrong on that one though) and bock isnt exactly setting the world on fire.

I dont think making deals outside the AFL rules is acceptable behaviour but we dont know for certain thats what weve done yet, the extent of the breaches, the guilty parties, the verdict or the penalty.

Had to be done..

The compensation pick from Davis in conjunction with Pick 10 in last years draft is what we used to get Crouch and Brown.

We got Tambling with our compensation for Bock. :(
