completely vindicated by an article in the age? as far as im aware the commission hearing is tomorrow and as ive said before, making an argument based on assumptions that turns out to be correct doesnt mean you were right.

I'll give you one thing - you certainly live up to your name. The club, Trigg, Harper and Reid have said they will plead guilty to all charges. The jig is up. The only thing we don't know are the penalties.

Are you claiming that we have? o_O Even the great and all knowing EQ used the term 'planning to plead guilty'

1) It's not just the Age reporting.

2) If I thought the quality of your arguments were hillariously bad before I had no idea what was to come. Dont worry everyone. We're not formally guilty, we're just acknowledging our guilt. Phew.

Oh my bad, 6 hours later the herald sun parroted, oops i mean reported it too.

Personal attacks do you no credit. point out to me where my argument is wrong and ill happily change it.

I assume since i pointed out where your argument was factually incorrect you will do the same.

This is such a significant back flip that we can only summise deals have been done left right and centre. I suspect not only between AFC and AFL but also our board and administrators.

If Triggys career was on the line I doubt he would be rolling over tomorrow nor would harper. My tip is they will keep their jobs, which I don't say is right, just my read.

Interesting to see how Tippett ends up, fighting to the end with the no knowledge defence. I would think some of our admissions will hurt his case.

cant believe we're pleading guilty to all charges. what a toss.

also, i still dont believe EQ or anyone else who says we HAD to take JW from sydney for the trade to go through.
they could have traded him to any number of clubs needing a big forward, skilled or not.

So, you believe that its inaccurate and that we're not infact acknowledging our guilt? That is the only way that what you're arguing could have any merit at all.

If you really want to hang your resume on formalities, go right ahead. Its a hillariously poor level of argument. Either you're still maintaining our innocence against all overwhelming reports, or you conceed the substance i.e. our guilt, and cling to a technicality regarding when the finding of guilt is formally recorded. You can see why I think this is pissantism right?

If EQs mail is on the money Trigg has to go. I have no doubt this goes on at other clubs but when you're caught you are caught. Tony Tippett comes out if this smelling badly. Sydney too. How can it be that they attempted to enforce this clause knowing it was against AFL rules and not get slapped? I'm disappointed and shocked.

As you clearly dont read my posts ill spell out my position to you again. There are 5 parties facing multiple charges. 3 current and former employees, 1 former player and the club itself. I'll concede that passing on the two picks looks like an admission of guilt (and frankly im insulted that you keep insisting i believe otherwise) but guilt by whom to which specific charge? Until i know that im not prepared to advocate the penalties for any specific individual. To me this issue isnt black and white, there are many shades of grey here.

I wonder if this whole saga will increase or decrease the number of dodgy third party payments in the league.

No doubt a few players may now be looking for a little sweetener to go with their ridiculous wage. Especially if Tippett gets off.

Id say at this point they all wish they'd had nothing to do with it :D.....but yes, inheriting this mess would be a tough situation to be in.

Perhaps that's why he was promoted from within? Imagine someone new to the club being presented with: 'Oh, and here's the illegal stuff we want you to administer on the side...'

I agree Peter. If we've negotiated a penalty then one of the conditions would be that we plead guilty to everything so the VFL arent made to look bad so of course the media would spin it as 'Crows roll over'.

I agree, but aren't you at all interested in the AFC's side of the story? We are assuming that what we are pleading guilty to is word for word what EQ has written.
If there is anything at all mitigating, that paints us in a better light, why haven't we heard it?

What is to be gained by keeping it quiet?

Instead it is just 'we have a history of compliance, unblemished record' etc.
