Just on Tippett, if he is de-registered tomorrow (effective immediately) will that legally prevent him from putting a price on his head as a Category A player in the pre-season draft? I wouldn't have thought that unregistered players would be able to put a price on their heads in any draft. Does anyone know the rules relating to unregistered players and the drafts?

How can anyone know the rules if the AFL themselves make them up/interpret them differently as they go along?

I'm not a huge fan of EQ, she appears to be a pretty vanilla AFL Journo (except in draft week, which appears to be here forte) but posting images of her or any other journo is a bit low.

If our 4 QCs negotiated with the AFL and settled for being excluded for 3 drafts ( this years and the next 2) what does this tell us?

That the club and Trigg are more interested in saving his career than minimising the long term damage us supporters are going to have to endure from being excluded from 3 drafts when it was TRIGG and REID who are fully responsible for this mess we are in.

What a FU**ING disgrace our piss weak club is if this is true!

I would of thought we should say " Here are the culprits, off with their bloody heads but please, only exclude us from 1 draft and give us a hefty fine." But it seems to me we would rather penalise the club to save Trigg.... Why wasn't Rendell shown the same love from the club when he has much more to do with our on field success than Trigg could ever dream of.

Tippett has already delisted himself and nominated for the PSD. The AFL have allowed him extra time to nominate his salary and conditions meaning he will nominate what Sydney have offered. That is because they can afford what they have offered and it will put off GWS who have to worry about a shrinking Salary Cap from 2014 and a huge increase in salaries for their plethora of high draft picks who will come off their drafted salaries at the end of 2013 and 2014.

Not palatable for us supporters who wanted Tippett to get shafted but that's what has and will happen.

Tippett has been given an extension to lodge his financial terms, until after the committee hearing. This is for a unmber of different reasons - including the fact he may have his right to set his salary voided by the committee.

GWS has the money. There is absolutely no doubt about that at all. And they would have the room to take Tippett. They may just choose that it's better to drive up his price in order to damage the other Sydney club.

Not sure why you are so against Emma Quayle, she is arguably the best journalist covering AFL, her article last night was just reporting what she believes are the facts and she did it in a well presented manner.

Get mad at the AFC administrators who dreamt all this up and Pink Panther like tried to cover it up.

Whoever DID VETO the trade to Brisbane last year must definitely get the chop. All of this would probably never have been discovered and we'd be a heap of high draft picks better off beginning in the 2011 draft.

why do you think i am against her? i just said she can get stuffed. that other article was a far more measured, balanced article. at least it was looking into breaches and weighign them all up, rather than trying to throw every charge and penalty at us.
also, what she believes are facts are not neccesary so. shes meant to be reporting, not writing an opinion.

Yep. Fine us the two draft picks we've given up, Tippett compo (effectively), our CEO, Footy Ops manager and Chairman. That's pretty hefty but we'll survive.

Take our ruck coach too.
