5AA. But it's not what we think, it's a new position in between Trigg and Harper. I've got to ask why is it needed if they were both competent.

Perhaps just helping chappie out while the others are suspended?

No, because we don't have to pay him for six months. ;)

Good point.

However, will Rob Chapman go onto the pay role?

Presidents/chairmen at AFL are honorary positions without salaries linked to them. I wonder if Rob Chapman will do the role in the same way as he does the chairman or charge a fee?

Saying that, what happens to this new role when Trigg comes back?

I would have still wanted him to resign, however, I would have had some form of respect left for him. He's acted in the same way that Tippett has, which is blame his actions on others. It's ******* pathetic.

Funny how you would receive a predictable response to a moronic comparison, isn't it?

Thanks, thats 2/2 that have validated the point I have been making.

Secondly, its only moronic because it doesnt suit your point of view. In any case I'm not going to engage in a tit for tat on this point as it's of little importance in the context of the point I have made.

You along with Stripple have answered and validated the point I was trying to make in my previous post.

Why should this prevent us from knowing what actually happened though? We are assuming that we'd still want him to resign, because whatever story they have apparently wasn't strong enough to stop them pleading guilty to all charges. We were told that the club were looking forward to telling their side of the story at the hearing, and to club members after the hearing, yet apparently they were just lying to us again. If there is a story that paints Trigg in a light where he isn't complicit to cheating, or just plain incompetent, then I'd like to hear it.

No, sorry, it's just a dumb comparison to make, from any point of view.

Are you suggesting that a Corporate sponsor is indifferent to the success of the club they are partnering with?

On field success directly impacts their return on investment. Off field success has a massive influence over on field performance.

Of course they care.

Not indifferent... but I'd suggest they may have a near enough is good enough approach, whereas winning requires a stronger mindset. Or, perhaps they don't see a premiership cup as the pinnacle of their sponsorship of a club.

Maybe it's different since the Crows are effectively the only game in town. We're in the papers every day, lots of adored young men spruiking their products - they're getting what they want, without us getting a premiership. They've no interest in removing Trigg, even if we from a football perspective argue he's not good for football part of the club.

What really frustrating even more than Trigg buddies supporting him and no showing real strength is that $urt will now end up at Swans with GWS saying cant afford . Boy is Sheedy full of crap.
My hope Brisbane come from left field and draft him.
But here is a question how can the premiership team afford him but btm team full of kids and has beens cannot.

$cully and Davi$

Maybe , maybe not. Could Sheedy have made his comments to make sure KT put a big price on his head?
The swans salary cap is going to the maxed out and there will be a few players pissed off at having a highly paid spud in their side.
I agree with Sheedy. KT is not worth 1/4 of his asking price.

I'm sorry, but that is exactly what you implied - go back and read your post.

I have re-read my post and I strongly disagree with you. The implication was that the board decided he should plead guilty, not he and he believed he was not guilty. It didn't state he did nothing wrong nor was guiltless, or that he was or is being a maryr, nor that he decided to take a hit for the club.

It was only an offer of suppostion for his public demeanor.

Please read my post again with fresh eyes.

No probs. although at this point trigg being apologetic/honest is more about his integery as a man than his position, as in my eyes that's already been damaged.

Chapman and the board have made their decision. Now Chapman is no mug, nor are the members of our board.

On what are you basing this opinion BG? I can't even name the people on the Board other than Nigel Smart, let alone be able to say they are 'no mugs'.

You wouldn't be alone on the first part of your statement boffo, but not knowing who they are, what they do and what talents they bring to the club hasn't stopped a few from bagging the living shit out of them.

If there is a story that paints Trigg in a light where he isn't complicit to cheating, or just plain incompetent, then I'd like to hear it.

This is the crux of it, every possible 'explanation' points to either cheating, deception and/ or incompetence.

I notice Big G hasn't turned his mind to thinking up possible explanations. I certainly can't think of one.

Even if Triggy thought it was all Reidy's fault, he was the manager of Reid and his attempts to set it right were incompetent. And he failed to declare to the AFL and the Board at the time that there was an issue with the Tippett deal. (We've been over this a million times, haven't you been paying attention BG?)

Fair point Macca, I don't like their decision though. So I'm not going to assume they are all wise old owls, nor condemn them individually either of course. Who knows what each of them said in the Board meeting before they closed ranks to make it a 'united' decision.

But going on this decision, I am disillusioned with the Board.

Or you can accept that there is a consistent, underlying theme across stakeholders with varying agendas that commonly suggests that the guys is, just maybe, a very good CEO.

That's my point.

Can you link to anything that proves that theme even exists, let alone points in the direction alleged?

You're saying because all these people think X, then that means...

I'm not disputing what that means, I'm disputing that we assume all these people think X

We have nothing to go by that really evidences that they do - and thats before we try to take meaning from it

I feel like some 2 bit magician is asking me to stare at a swinging pocket watch :)

Caro needs to move on. She should be chasing the next story...

eg. searching for a sample of Dane Swans urine.
