On this topic taxis... When I go to pay on card they put in extra money, sometimes in a $21.80 cab fare they put in some random as shit number like $27.95 or something equally ****ing ******ed. Most of them are not worth the tip, but I can never be bothered fighting with them after telling them to **** off.

It's not a tip they're adding, it's a credit card surcharge fee to offset the cost of using the payment system.

Happens with a lot of things where you pay by card. Thankfully it's starting to be recognized as unreasonable price gouging practice and will hopefully soon be stamped out.

But yeah, it's not a tip, driver wouldn't see a cent of it

About the only thought I've given those that do your work is "Why do they make it so hard to unwrap the paper?" :p

Haha, after it took me 20 minutes explaining to my mate that some one actually wraps the paper (it doesn't happen magically), that's the first thing he asked me.

Can't believe people actually order pizzas when you can just go down to Coles and buy one of their Michelin Star cheese pizzas.

Easy on the waistline as well. A 2km stroll and you've burnt her off. :thumbsu:

Also easy on the pocket, even those on government payments can afford them

It really depends what the percentage mark up it. They might be adding a lillte extra??

How come for the same priced taxi fare I get charged $2 surcharge sometimes and $8 at others? For the exact same priced fare.

Go well with Tea cake

You'd get mugged in Geraldton if seen with those.

Great for a cold night in Mt Clear.

So whats the answer?

I don't really know. We can't adjust the tightness of how it's wrapped. It's done by a machine, so it's either wrapped tight or it isn't wrapped at all.

I've never had a pizza delivered and the only taxi I've caught on my own was paid for with a cabcharge ticket.

Given the opportunity though I would let them keep the small change - I don't see a reason for excessive tipping.
Are you in your uni years yet?

2nd year uni - I've been to parties which have had pizzas delivered and have shared taxis where between us we've probably overpaid. Just not on my own - there's no point with taxis when I'm not a big drinker and can drive, they're expensive and a bit scary on your own. As for pizzas, I'm not a big fan and rarely have it anyway.

Seemed appropriate...

Only tip if something is like $X.90/X.95 because i hate 5c and 10c coins.

Jobs that require tips in the US get paid well here in Australia. Tips aren't needed. It's the American's trying to bring something into the world that isn't wanted. A bit like the West Indies Cricket Team and the High 5. Bring back the old slap on the ass or dry root. :p

Its much worse in america though. Everywhere else in the world the people will be very happy with a 10 % tip. In america anything less than 20 % and you are risking a beat down by some out of control yankee scum.

Also because of their control of worldwide television they are the ones responsible for spreading the propoganda.

Yeah the 'dollar or two' is also not a problem for me, I hate coins so when the pizza guy is gonna give me coins im happy to just tip him that too.

What im against is like in a nice restaurant in Aus when they want a 20 % tip on a $400 + bill, that is UN australian, to me
