Hey all,

'Tis the festive season and it looks like the injury news is looking a bit more festive than I first thought. Well it looks like Bolton is confident of making a strong return round 1 anyway.

Overall I'm thinking we're in for a great year in 2011 and am already pumped up and ready and roaring to go.... and it's still so far away!! Got my membership renewed yesterday and am already planning a few trips to Melbourne for a few games.

I do believe we'll have a good year next year, largly based on the younger guys lifting their games. Not to say the older blokes won't step up... I just think we can expect to see the likes of Kennedy, Jack, Hanners, Mummy, Rohan, Jesse etc etc all sharing more of the load in 2011.

I also think our coaching staff will be rejuvenated and fresh which I do think will help.

I'm predicting a top 8 finish, with real potential of finishing top 4 given a good run on the injury front.

My concerns revolve around injuries and longevity of some players (LRT? Bolton?). But overall I think we've got great depth to cover potential major injuries (as we did with Bradshaw, Bolton & Seaby this year).

How do you think we'll go in 2011? Who do you think will step up and make it happen? Will it happen at all?

Anyway, have a great red & white holiday break everyone!!

See you all here in 2011.

Hopefully guys like Jack, Mumford, Kennedy and Hanners can build on their excellent seasons. If everyone can maintain the same form, Bolton and Bradshaw remain fit and Goodes is given more freedom, then we should be in for a good year.

Even though I'll only be in Australia for the first half of the season I'm going to be keeping track of 2011 with a lot of excitement and expectations because of how we finished 2010.

The same names are going to be mentioned in this thread like Hannebery, Jack, Mumford etc but one of the older guys who's progress I'll be following and is an absolute favourite of mine is Jude Bolton. He'll almost be the 2011 version of Kirk in my opinion, I'd actually like to see him captain the side until he retires.

If I had to choose one youngster besides Hannebery and Jack who will obviously generate the most excitement, then Jetta would be that player. He was nervous and scratchy early in the season but he finished with a lot of poise and style, with his skills and speed really coming to the fore. If he can improve even just 10% next year he'll be awesome for us.

Just to go off topic for a moment, AG why do you keep changing your display picture? It messes with my head lol.

I would be quite disappointed if we didnt make the top 4. We have so much depth this year. Our midfield for the first time in ages is starting get a serious amount of class attached to it. I think defensively we are looking great with an overflow of running backs to choose from. In the forwards we really need Bradshaw to stay injury free, if we can get 17 games out of him we will go a long way to securing a top 4 spot. On the toher hand I still belive Jesse White can have a break out year and kick 40 - 50 goals, he has all the physical attributes to be a freak!!!
There will be a few senior players finding themselves on the outer with the likes of Reid, Sumner, Johnston, Pyke, Lamb, Parker, Gordon etc, all pushing for senior selection. Competition for spots will be red hot.
I personally cant wait to see Sumner get a game, I saw him in a couple of reserves games and he looked amazing, a class above.

Confident we can make the Top 8 next year, if things go our way, Top 4 is definitely not out of the question.

Hoping that at least one of C Bolt or LRT can play a full season to help out Grundy down back. Spangher and Everitt could also prove useful if Kenelly cannot get on the park.

Bradshaw to have a really good season, also like to see Big Jesse White step up and really fulfil his potential. Expecting Reid and Johnston to get a few games up forward and really impress. McGlynn to play a full season and kick 40 goals. Jetta, Rohan and TDL to show their goal kicking flair up front.

Jack to make AA this year, Hannebery to continue his amazing run since debut.

Seaby and Mumford to dominate the ruck this year.

I've got very high hopes for our young kids, and I know that they will do well for us, whether in the reserves or seniors.

It's going to be an awesome year, can't wait.

I hope some of our supporters don't get tooo carried away, sure we've got improvement but so do other teams. Also injuries can be a deciding factor.

Top 8, but I hope we aren't making up the numbers.
