Mystery Titanic Tourist Submarine Lost * Found as Debris

I was thinking about that, then thought a tether might become tangled but they probably shouldn't get that close anyway and it could come with a release.

Sorry for butting in, hard to resist though because it had been playing on my mind.

What strength would the tether require to lift the submersible from that depth and pressure?
Could well require a tether too thick\weighty for practical use.

So old mate Jimmy Jimbo Jimmy James Cameron was able to independently confirm last Monday that along with a loss of communication there was a loss of tracking (transponder) and that underwater listening devices had detected a signature consistent with implosion around the time of loss of communication.

Meanwhile the whole world's media runs some far fetched story of search and rescue without mentioning the last two pertinent points, not even a mention of a loss of tracking.

What's all that about?

There's people asking over socials how long before searchers stop looking for any remains.

It would have taken less than a millisecond for the implosion, less than it took for the brain to process it was happening. They also heated up and were dispersed across the sea as gel. It was basically a situation of a tube of toothpaste in a hydraulic press.

It probably took them two days before the Navy even looked for any information that could help and pass it up through to the brass where it was filtered as a matter of security before releasing it.

Agreed, however the transponder detail is odd, to lose that along with comms would be a massive red flag as they are two seperate systems with the transponder itself in a seperate pressurised vessel, but the media only reported on the loss of comms.

I know this is not footage from this failed mission, but it looks similar to the footage shot by the YouTuber. Do we know if there had been any successful voyages? The YouTuber mentioned mission 3 and mission 5. Someone else mentioned 22 or 23 dives? Do we have any real details?

Wouldn't the transponder be considered communications? When I read all comms had been lost, I assumed it was everything.

I think we are being trolled by this tourist shaming dickhead!

If they were all legally crew, or even Mission Specialists, how come 2 of them had to pay $250k each to go on the trip?

It doesn't even pass the work experience pub or strip club test.

Sounds like a good way to throw some more money at lawyers trying to prove that, so that the liable organisation(s) can claim that they did nothing wrong.

That it was all a terrible accident.

Guillermo Söhnlein, co-founder of OceanGate Expeditions, the company that owned and operated the craft, told the ABC that passengers on board the submersible would not “consider themselves tourists”.

“I don’t think any of them would consider them tourists. They were part of the crew. They were ‘Mission Specialists’, they were trained for it. And they were very well aware of the risks”.

“They knew what they were getting into. And yeah, and it’s just, it’s a sad thing that they died doing something that they were passionate about.”

Söhnlein, who co-founded and helmed the company, left it in 2013, before the doomed Titan submersible was developed. He retains a small stake in it.'

So the 19-year-old boy was a “Mission Specialist who knew what he was getting into”? Yeah nah 🙁

We can see 'the real experience' in the video posted by Alberto_Magnifico in comparison to the promotional video trying to sell the 'experience'. Vastly different imo.

What's a bit suspicious to me, is that in the real experience the tourists were given motion sickness tablets as prescribed by the doctor. It sent them to sleep.

They gave this youtuber as a savvy, experienced diver, sea sickness tablets and told him that while he struggled with it, that the sleepiness would pass.

He probably specialised in promoting the trip to the next lot of potential victims "mission specialists" by smiling a lot to the camera, pretending he was really enjoying it (as opposed to be scared stiffless), and lots of amazing human sound effects to up the perceived value of paying to be a "mission specialist" promoter.

Probably helped boost the longevity of the emergency oxygen supplies in case they got lost in space again, or Octynapped by one of these majestic and very clever sea residents.

That's pretty tone deaf from Söhnlein considering all the evidence to the contrary, with reports of Stockton cRush flying half way across the world, offering half price tickets and putting on the hard sell, downplaying safety along the way.
This guy sounds like a massive creep.
