Thanks For your services to the Carlton Football Club during the past couple years.

You are obviously not worthy of wearing a navy blue guernsey and look much better in the bullants red and whites.

We hope you enjoyed your farewell game today and wish you all the best in 2009 and beyond.

O, and while your at it, please take Cain Ackland with you!

Please explain how it was the fault of Saddington that the North Melbourne midfield was allowed free reign to run the ball through the middle and provide continuous, virtually unchallenged supply to their forward line.

Because that`s where the problem was today. Our defenders today were let down terribly by their team mates up the field.

He never blamed him for that.

But i've stated it before, Saddington is a 'defender' that cannot defend. He's easily pushed out of contests and let's his man get away too easily.

Today our defensive pressure in the midfield was terrible yes, nobody is saying otherwise, however if it wasn't clear before, then it was made clear today that Saddington just isn't upto it.

When you have a slow ruckman in David Hale outrunning you on the lead and taking marks all over the ground to go with a bag of goals, you would think that some of the blame would have to go to his opponent (Saddington).
Yes Hale did have good service from the midfield but so many times was Hale able to take marks where either Saddo was nowhere to be found or where he should have given a punch or at least create a contest.

I'm not one who is usually quick to jump the gun and bag a player but Saddington got me extremely frustrated today.

If you cannot see after today, that Saddington is no longer up to AFL standard, then l suggest you go back and watch the replay, in the 2nd quarter when the game was on the Roos went long to Saddington's opponent because they identified him as a weak link.

I believe today just reconfirmed that most people were amazed that our coaching staff make the decision to back him back when we all knew 12 months ago that he was past this level, if he is our best option down back then we are in serious trouble.

So none of you have a problem with the unchallenged supply the North midfield were allowed to provide their forward line for the majority of the game? Do you think it really matters who we have in defence if that continues to occur?

Saddo probably is past it, which is a shame, but it is just so typical and blinkered of what passes for comment on this board that one particular player is singled out when a number of his team-mates deserve far greater scrutiny for their poor efforts today.

I would have thought that even before todays game, it would be almost certain that Saddington won't be at our club next year. I don't blame Ratts and the MC for playing him ahead of Austin.

Aussie looks like he'll be a player at AFL level, yet he just needs more time at VFL level.

He was only singly scrutinizing him because of his poor efforts today and the fact that it WILL be his last game in a navy blue jumper
Im not sure why he was chosen in the team as he was a very weak link in the team
along with Fisher (before you talk about his two goals....they were pointless junktime goals)
and Thornton was terrible...continually turned the ball over
between thornton and fisher if we get offered a half decent trade we should jump on it

Bower in a wheelchair would have done better than Saddo down there today. The North guys knew he was a weedy unco shashlik with a mop-top and kicked it to Hale every chance they got. Result: Hale slammed us down in 2nd quarter.

Yes, there were 23 other players that made mistakes, but this guy had no reason to be selected. If we were really going to put our best effort into making the 8, I cannot understand how he got a game.

Enjoy the bullants, biattchhhslap :)

Wouldnt it be something if he survived one more week .....

Threads like this are pretty ordinary, one thing to be critical of players, thats fine. We know he'll be delisted at seasons end so why bother starting this thread, very childish. A few of you sound more and more like Richmond supporters after a loss trying to find excuses as to why we got beat.

The guy tries but unfortunately his footy smarts and his positioning at contests have gone past him. leave it at that. Does it make you or anyone else feel any better by starting crap insulting threads like this, does it help in anyway?

If you knew anything about football you would realise Saddo was one of probably 15 culprits on the ground today that were comprehensively beaten.

i really do feel for saddington.
there were two guys behind the cheer squad giving it to saddington the whole game and then as he was walking down into the rooms.
very feral supporters, abosolute scum for treating saddington like they did (and several other players).

i think one of them might be a poster on this site because he said alot of typical bigfooty words like spud and flog.

There is absolutely no class whatsoever in abusing your own players - or for that matter incessantly slagging off at them on an internet forum behind the coward`s cloke of anonymity.

It is an aspect of the modern supporter that I absolutely detest.

Saddo, Hackland, Fisher, Houla etc...all litter from the Pagan era, it's no wonder we can't beat a makeshift side like them for so long..

Once those guys are gone, you watch, we smash them back to that hole in Arden St....

Pagan said in the paper today carlton will make the 8.
You can see from them comments why we fkd him off.
lost his marbles i think.

Lay off sado everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With 2 games left he should get his 25 th chance

It still matters of course. Yes we're going to get scored against but the effort in which backman are able to hold forwards back can vary. I don't doubt anybody would be unhappy with Jamisons performance after todays game.

Saddo probably is past it, which is a shame, but it is just so typical and blinkered of what passes for comment on this board that one particular player is singled out when a number of his team-mates deserve far greater scrutiny for their poor efforts today.

Nobody is saying they don't deserve scrutiny, but it was made clear that he just isn't upto AFL standard. That's all.

Because he is likely to get delisted, you people think that it is alright to slag him and blame him after a loss?
This is a quote from a Carlton v Roos thread on Roos board.
My sentiments exactly, and i have never heard so many haters of there own players before....What a disgrace...Makes me more proud than ever to be a roo supporter

I thought Saddo played well and tried hard. The supply was too good.

I don't see one comment on the Roos board about how "shit" Gibson is because Fevola kicked 6 on him.

Thornton and Jamison were atrocious today, Waite was not much better. Yet, some of you just want our players to fail.

Thornton was a bit lacklustre, but how on earth you can degrade Waite's performance is beyond me. Jamison atrocious and Saddington played well? Jesus, maybe i need a new pair of eyes.

Hrmmm. Hale...Fevola, Hale...Fevola...ummmmmm, right. :p

There were far greater problems today than the performance of one individual defender.
