Not a mark. It was a handball receive.

This is an important criteria to the incident and relates to a quirk of our game. When taking a mark you can smash your opponent in the head with feet, knees or body. Greene was receiving the ball from a handball so his actions will be deemed dangerous.

That's just not going to be even a remote chance of happening, thr AFL aren't going to take the screamer out of the game. Every Howe mark he put his studs in his opponent. Pretty much every mark of the year ever has studs in the player.
This. Was. Not. A. Marking. Contest.

The difference is pretty clear. If it was a marking contest then Dahlhaus is not running in to lay a tackle. He's probably not even contesting from where he was. Alternatively, if you're caught under a high ball in a marking contest you can position, brace, whatever to prepare for contact. This was not a normal football action and it should be stamped out.

Do you reckon if he'd punched him in the head "to protect himself" that would've been ok?

How blind can you get? Where was this phantom tackle that everybody trying to get Greene rubbed out is talking about? All I see is Daulhaus standing there like Jake Carsile.

Yes, as we've seen he would have had no other option and been legitimately going for the ball, and as we've seen countless times before there would be no case to answer for.

To me if Greene gets suspended for that you might as well suspended everyone who sticks a knee in the back of the head when they take a hanger.

I remember a game where Ted Richard wa was running back with the flight of the ball and fevola stuck two knees right in his rib cage . Ted came up coughing up blood. Bad luck it's a physical sport.

You see that all the time.

The fact he got reported is laughable. The fact Channel 7 tools are saying he's in trouble is no surprise, what a collection of ass clowns they are.

Has our game changed in the last 2 months or are the drugs these people are taking suddenly become stronger?

It's a contact sport FFS!
Boots in the face all the time? What world are we living in here? He's gone for reckless rough conduct. 2 weeks maybe more...

Now I know you're just trolling.

Except I'm not and I'm correct. In this exact situation, if Greene is watching the ball, attacks the ball, grabs it and then his momentum takes his hand into Daulhaus' head, there'd be nothing in it. What you're saying when you say "What if Green punched him in the head" is you're imagining Greene punching Daulhaus Barry Hall style and then going back and grabbing the ball. You probably haven't seen what happened and imagine that Green stood there, kicked GDaulhaus in the head MMA style then grabbed the ball. You're trying to make people compare a diblerate punch in the head with Daulhaus taking Greene's legs out from under him.

So you've never seen a free against a player for a high fend off? How much footy do you watch?

I saw the incident. He made forceful contact to the head with his studs in the act of receiving a handball. Dahlhaus was standing up.

Your trolling is both obvious and ridiculous. No more bites from me.

He made forceful contact to the head

Daulhaus made forceful contact with his head with Greene's foot, not the other way around. Go and watch the incident "again" (for the first time). Green jumps up and down on the spot. You can tell because of his position relative to the advertising. Daulhaus charges at him and runs into his foot.

it's such an unnecessary movement to extend your leg out like that, especially the way he extends it right before he hits Dahlhaus' face. it's really hard to find a way to defend this. it seems pretty obvious why he leaped with his leg stretched at 90 degrees like that

Interestingly the Bulldogs board seems to agree (or did when I was there an hour ago) that Greene shouldn't be suspended.

Geelong fans are deluded.
Every incident from now on should be 2 weeks.
They don't care if Dangerfield's sling tackle caused concussion. They just presume everything is 2 weeks and no questions asked.
