Dont speak too soon mate. Dogs are not gone yet and they have 22 more players than GWS who have a premiership medallion. Your boys have not won jackshit.
I said we will play finals, given we're locked in for finals my pist was timely

The issue here is every Knee to the head in a marking, ruck or any other contest for the ball will now be reportable and should be if this is reportable.
And this is despite the rules around marking being posted numerous times...in this thread...explicitly saying that marks are treated differently...

I'm unsure how this continually gets missed.

No! Marks, ruck contests and tackles will be outlawed if he gets suspended! It's a bloody outrage it is!

But it's just so simple. Oh, marking contests are different? Fair enough let's analyse it more.

Instead we have pages of numptied posting pictures of marking contests. Some can't even get past that the incident itself wasn't a marking contest

If Greene had raised an elbow to "protect" himself and clocked Dalhaus in the face with such force that he needed medical treatment he would get 2 weeks. The fact that he used his boot doesn't make it better or "accidental".
yet a palm in a don't argue will, at worst, cost you a free kick against.

Also, had Greene used his knee, its likely Dahl goes for tunnelling.

Simple thing to fix - don't allow tackles on players mid-air.
Until you do, players can protect themselves. if you approach someone in the air, you need to be prepared for them to protect themselves.

I keep hearing this, but why? Should make no difference - both are contesting the ball.

In any case it was in response to someone saying they've never seen such an action, when it happens pretty often (mark or no mark).
Its because the rules around prohibited contact are more lenient for a marking contest, as below:

15.4.3 (e) A player may make contact with another player if such contact is incidental to a marking contest and the player is legitimately marking or attempting to mark the football.

As such, given Greene's action was not in a marking contest, he is not protected by this clause. If it were in a marking contest, he'd have no case to answer, clearly. Because it wasn't, it will depend on the MRP's thoughts on Greene's duty of care.
