Being forced off the ground to get stitches to the face might have given it away. Of course it could have been one of Sheedy's seagulls that did the damage.Did he even get him in the face?? All the vision I've seen say its inconclusive.
Going for the ball is the key difference.

HA,weve copped flak from your posters for yonks now, maybe a truce could be bartered.move on - MRP made its decision, time for all to build a bridge.
Precedent set: its legal to kick a player in the head.
Blood on your hands AFL.

So the mrp overturned the decision even though it was umpires call and inconclusive footage.Did he even get him in the face?? All the vision I've seen say its inconclusive.
No if you tackle someone and their head hits the ground it's a free kick against and a fine. If they are concussed it's weeks. If you jump up and kick someone in the face, it's a fine. If they are concussed/don't come back on then presumably it's weeks. So if you tackle a guy and his head hits the ground, you get rubbed out. But if you jump up and kick someone in the face, that's no worries.
Why?
I've never seen any player thrust their boor towards an opposition player's face in an open play situation in 40 years of watching the game.

Unless you're Brody Grundy and you get the free kick.No if you tackle someone and their head hits the ground it's a free kick against and a fine.
Basically we are no longer penalising the act, but the outcome. If you jump up and kick someone in the face, it's a fine. If they are concussed/don't come back on then presumably it's weeks.
Tippett knocked himself out running in to Heath Shaw's knee in a marking contest. No penalty at all for Shaw - because he didnt knee him.
How would you define a kick? Here we have a boot contacting someone's face. Not even close to a kick.

So a football has to be involved for it to be kicking?Someone kicking a football.
Just when you think the AFL is getting tough on violent acts they come and do this.
What rubbish is misconduct too? A punch in the head is misconduct, a jumper punch is misconduct...
And why no applicable record? Seriously bewildering.
Probably keeping it for the scenario where Dusty taps someone and risks losing the Brownlow... oh, it was only misconduct.
Agreed, its either clear or 8 weeks. How can it be misconduct if he had his eyes on the ball and it was accidental contact?
Either it was careless, high and mild/mod force or it was an accident and no fine.
Misconduct doesn't make sense.

It was high contact, medium impact and either reckless or negligent. How can it be misconduct if he had his eyes on the ball and it was accidental contact?
