Personally, I'm gutted. Where the hell have our skills gone? Who has taken them?

That stubborn son of a bitch doesn't realise that Kenny is not a CHF and will never be but no we have to persist with it because I'm the coach. Well, I've got news for you, and it won't be good.

It is not good enough to accept this performance unless we accept mediocrity, yes we put in a workmanlike effort however at the end of the day we were 3 goals up in the third and still lost it.
And someone thought we were top four. AH!

Can someone please explain how the hell do we go from being in second position at the end of the 19th round 2003 to this in 2004 with basically the same squad. Answers???

Good performance today from the Roo (I wish we could clone this bloke) and Hentschell showed coolness under pressure (problem is we can't have two CHBs!!!)

Poor gameplan. Very, very poor.

Everyone can see it except Ayres apparently.

I am as frustrated after today's game as I have ever been. We absolutely wasted our opportunities, particularly in the second quarter (I think we kicked 2 goal 7 points). We never put enough scoreboard pressure on them and also wasted countless opportunities around the ground. I can't remember another game where the clanger count would be so high.

On a positive note, Hentschell was very good today and was one of the few players that used the ball. Roo was inspirational - unfortunately it only inspired us at home as not many players took a leaf from his book.

Let me run through the list of players today and rate them on their performance.

Carey - tried hard but did he shank gettable goals or what. 2 goals 5 behinds is a disgrace.

Massie - I thought he tried hard and got the ball but burned it.

Clarke - Average

Smart - one of our better players but why not play him up forward for majority of the game when he was going well. Why take him off when he kicks a goal??????

Bassett - Did a great job on Medhurst.

Edwards - kicked 2 goals but did nothing else. Average

Hudson - tried hard. Not a bad game for a 1st gamer.

McGregor - Disgraceful. His kicking is pathetic. Get a bloody hair cut.

Welsh - get a good hard look at yourself fella because you are playing crap.

Johncock - one of our better players.

Stenglein - played well and took some fantastic marks.

Gallagher - played OK and used the ball reasonably well.

McLeod - Mixed bag. Excellent first half but crap after half time. He gifted freo with 2 goals in the 4th quarter. Get a look at yourself macca.

Burton - played best game of the season but missed a gimme goal.

Schuback - was OK but needs to lift.

S. Stevens - Roller coaster ride continues. Good one week, average the next.

Begley - played well before cramping up.

Roo - The bloke is a champ. BOG effort.

Reilly - got plenty of the ball but burned it. A bit uncharacteristic, he usually uses it well. Missed an easy goal as well.

Biglands - I thought he played well in defence but lost his way after he cleaned up Polak. You're gone son.

Goodwin - was quiet. Got injured and will miss a month at least :(

Hentschel - This kid was good. Fantastic evasive skills and coolness under pressure.

Skill level not up to scratch. Delivery to the forward line awful. Even Warrent Tredrea couldn't be effective if he was in our forward line. Tried hard, ran out of gas in the end but thats not acceptable. There is no such a thing as honourable loss. Goal kicking was pathetic. Bad kicking is bad football and we are playing crap football.

Is that a joke? Sarcasm? Bassett got TOWLED...if Medhurst had kicked straight, it would look a lot worse than the cold statistics do...

He even threw a classic Bassett tantrum after a Medhurst free...that was clearly there too...

I don't understand why Bassett gets a game...he has no muscle, he has no pace, he goes to crap as soon as something goes against him.

He seems to get a game based on one good string of games he had a couple of years ago...but he has been rubbish since then. Is not good enough to be played as ANY sort of defender.

Sorry but I have to disagree. I think Bassett played a very good game today and stitched up Medhurst. His little tantrum was not good though and he needs to stop these.

Good summary, Stiffy. What the hell is it with players and hair cuts. Its like Deliah and Samson - you change your haircut and loss your powers!!! The point is we see the change in style and if you play crap then thats the thing we remember most.

Disappointed with Mcleod, I can remember at one stage he was running thru the centre, took a bounce I think and then overrun the ball big time. Not very McLeod like and that pass to Gallagher in the last quarter when he must have been thinking "I've got the ball and now I'll kick it 30 metres to the smallest man on the field set him up and then they can kick a goal" - well thats how it looked. If this is their game plan throw the box of weeties out and get a new box.

Bad luck guys. Possibily the worst game I've ever seen though.

We were absolutely shocking. Crows were dominating, just couldn't convert. We got killed at stoppages, and Adelaide always had players at the bottom of marking contests.

I agree with the emphasis on the lack of skills, it was prety obvious.
However I will beg to differ on some of the player comments.

Stenglein, got the ball, but what did he do with it - turned it over more often than not - ask Bode what the coach thinks of that

S.Stevens, IMO wasn't our worst player, and was on a par with last week. Played further up the ground this week.

Burton - just aghhhh.... Some of his defensive marks can hide some of his other very average play.

Basset - can this guy keep his feet - isn't that the first rule of the coaching staff. Went to ground, out of contest, and gave us no attacking run from defense.

Schuback, I don't know if we can expect too much more in his 3rd game - compare it to Hentshells 3rd game and others, and it was what you would reasonably expect.

Agree Roo tried his heart out, and tried to lead from the front, but his and the rest of midfield have to dispose of the ball better.

Only saw the 2nd half, but from what I saw, I agree with SD. TLo kicked 3 goals on Bassett, then when he was moved on to Medhurst, he should have kicked 3 goals on him too if he kicked straight. The Hound looks out form to me.
