Injury free and the new gospel according to Hardwick and I think we'll see a much improved Hislop.

If Hislop can improve the same way King & White did last year, or reinvent his game the way Morton did, we're going to have a good player.

At this point in time I have no reason to doubt Hardwick's decisions on players. He's made a lot of progress on some marginals last year.

But we don't need anymore players like King & White.

Agree, but Hislop is starting of a much higher base than King or White did so we could expect a lot more from him.

Sorry to disagree but I can't see him being better then King or White and we just don't have the room for any more players like that.

No need to apologise. You and I, and most others here, really have NFI.

If we rookie him I hope I'm right. If we don't rookie him then I hope you're right.

The guy has a bad history of going out harder than Daniel Conners did ffs plus other things i can't say on here. If he has turned a corner i would consider him but if not **** him off and dont let him go anywhere near the club.

I think he's okay. Put in a shocker in front of goal against the Hawks in our first preseason debacle, but then played three solid games — one of only a few of our guys to play every preseason game IIRC. Expected to see more of him in 2010 but cruelled by injury.

Clearly not a world-beater but I can see him becoming a dependable player.

Was rumours of this sorta stuff at Essendon too.
Not taking anyone forward IMHO.

I'm astonished at the support for Hislop.

I must've missed something, but this bloke has shown absolutely nothing to suggest to me that he will be a positive and consistent contributor.

If anyone starts down the "depth" path, well my view is that depth is not just a numbers/positions game. Depth means depth in talent.

Hislop is hard at it but he just doesn't have enough talent, and as we know "talent" cannot be learned.

All I can see happening if he is rookied is that everyone will be demanding his head until inevitably he is delisted again.

Waste of time. List clogger. Pick a kid.

I wouldn't say nothing. Playing in the forward line, he has the uncanny knack of being in the right spot at the right time. its just that his kick on both feet is shocking. At least King has one ok foot. Kingy is learning to play his role in the team, and play within his own limitations, which is why he has finished off the year the way he has. Hislop may do the same, but obviously would need to show some deligence on the rookie list before progressing back to the main list. I don't see it happening, but am happy to be proven wrong. The rookie list is exactly that, outside chances. If the selection team feel that Hislop shows more potential than another potential younger rookie, then i am ok with that. Tho I would prefer going along the youth line.

Must feel like the luckiest man on earth.

On his 2nd chance and plays like shit for 2 years and still keeps his spot on the list, albeit rookie list.

Waste of time. Bring in a new kid. Hislop is too slow, dumb in terms of footy smarts and lacks foot skills. That won't change. Bad move.

...he is entitled to train with the club and show what he has to offer and if he's no better that the other rookies on show my guess is that he wont be picked...

...and the club will go with a rookie...
