I'd also like to see some more dominant performances from Lynch for that pay, worth noting he only kicked 44 last year (after 66 the year before in only 3 more games) and that of his 14 goals this year in 6 games, 8 came against carlton. For us to put all our eggs in his basket with very limited room to move given 2 1 mil+ players he really does have to be a sure thing

We won the premiership last year and I believe our current list has something good going atm!!

I am just watching footy classified talking about Essendon not having a brand and footy game plan.


MY CONCERN IS IF WE GET TOM LYNCH WILL RICHMOND LOSE ITS BRAND???

If I think of Richmond what players come to mind???

When I think of RICHMOND I think of Kane Lambert, I think of Jason Castagna, I think of Butler, I think of Dylan Grimes, I think of Jacob Townsend, I think of Jack Graham, I also think of Nathan Broad and more recently Reece Conca as well as Josh Caddy!!! I will throw in Vlastuin in terms of the Tigers stripes to apart from the older furniture


When I think of Richmond, atm I just do not think of Tom Lynch in terms of the apple cart..

He replaces Townsend. That's a huge upgrade....HUGE!

the funny thing is Townsend to Lynch could be a downgrade!!

Apart from Tom Lynch possible being a bad fit, Lynch simply is not a proven world beater.

Josh Caddy is clearly a better player than Lynch. I would get another Josh Caddy before chasing a Tom Lynch!!

One of the winning formulas Richmond needs to keep sourcing is youth and draft success to help the likes of Jack Graham win 5 or more premierships in his career at Tigerland!!

I would prefer Richmond supported each other and fostered further developed success!!


One of the reasons Richmond probably has been playing better as a team is a growing sense of integrity within the group so there is less BS and players have to earn their own keep and on field efforts are paramount and this is one applecart that Richmond cannot afford to upset if it wants continued success!

Reputations mean nothing if the required output is not being exerted on the ground!

One thing with our group is everybody has to tackle, every body has to pull their weight, no free loaders are allowed, even Nankervis is lauded because of his pressure and second efforts so the applecart is not upset and the team fabric not compromised!!

If i was Castagna,Rioli,Butler,Lambert,Riewoldt .............. I would be licking my chops at the thought of Big Tom Lynch being a part of the foward line.

If I was Rance , Riewoldt , Prestia , Caddy , Martin ........... I would be thinking, I could be a multiple premiership player

If I was 17 Other teams .................... I would be thinking sh!t , Now how do we plan for Jack & Tom as well as keep the dwarfs quite

I am going to put a cat amongst the pigeons.

Ronke is a better player than Franklin and proved it on the weekend as the MVP for the Swans kicking 7 goals!!!

I will say RFC's brand is without compartmentalisation in the sense everyone including JR and Rance does a bit of midfield and tackling including Rance, JR and Nankervis so standardisation across all the players in terms of consistency is critical to our brand and belief in each other as well as team success. So whoever we get in have to be able to move, apply pressure and competition no questions asked!!! So we may have role players but the role plays still do a bit of everything in he area they are attached to displaying great versatility. If anything the North game with Jacobs on Dusty shows we need another Dusty!!

Remember Ronke made 10 tackles!!!

Lynch averages 0.8 tackles less a week this year than Townsend. Lynch averages more interceps, contested marks, 1%ers, goals, possessions and can back up ruck. Not a upgrade lol.

Stewart was traded for Billy Barrot who ended up playing 2 games for the Saints. Im a bit young to remember but I understand at the the time no one knew what to expect. Billy was much loved legend & big game performer and the thought was Stewie may have lost his way so don't think too many supporters would have been jumping for joy. Of course didn't take long for them to realise how good the deal was in the end

If Lynch was to come would we play him as a stay at home forward? Probably not I would have thought because we need the forward pressure and we cannot upset the applecart!!

The bottomline is the applecart is more important than Tom Lynch so Tom cannot upset it!!!

The applecart is synonymous which the Richmond brand of footy because that is what Richmond plays, APPLECART FOOTY!!!!
