I don't think anyone can deny he is obviously one of Malthouse's favourites. Malthouse seems to have taken a liking to him specifically imo.

It can be interpreted as a good relection of him training and work ethic if anything. Malthouse would obviously be impartial to those kind of players.

Licuria was similar, he was a MM favourite, I reckon Maxwell might have been as a youngster too.

Agree with that Toovey is a Mick Favorite because he Puts in 100% and he is giving it his best shot which is good BUT he just does not have the Talant to make - My Opinion

Seeks FFS, all coaches have some kind of favouritism and when it comes to taggers/small defenders in the side we need to play the hardest nd closet checking of them this is toovey.

This isnt favoritism this is merit, on merit toovey fits the role, nuff said.

have a look this time next year. Our list will bat down to about 34, but we'll finish out of the 4 again because we have too many good players, and nowhere near enough BLOODY good players.

I'd be guessing that Rocca, Rusling and Medhurst would be unlikely to make the trip. Rusling probably the most chance out of the three but pretty unlikely.

If Toovey can improve enough to be in our best 22 then I think we will be a better team than where we are now. He won't be there unless he improves, the selectors will go for younger players with better skills.

He's one of only three players who could be of benefit to us by negating one of the oppositions best forwards or midfielders and I thought he improved a lot in the few games he played before he got injured.

If he learns to back his judgement more and not be so indecisive he could be quite valuable for us. He's not a good kick, but is quite athletic despite his awkqardness and is a decent tackler. Apparently he played part of the second Sydnet match with a broken bone in his foot. Why he was left on I'm not sure, but it's enough to tell you he'll do all he can to fill his role in the team. Fortunately for him, the only role he could play doesn't require great kicking skills and nobody has claimed it yet. Good luck to him and don't be surprised if he playes 15+ games this year.

I reckon the list CAN always carry a few 110%-type nqrs, even if only to remind all the flashy top-10 types about what the coach values highest. But like anyone else, they only get a few years to own a 22 spot.
