I think your jumping the gun just a little bit to suggest Thomas is in our best 10 players.

As for mine (the order is a little rough though).
1. Clement
2. Buckley
3. Rocca
4. Tarrant
5. Licuria
6. Fraser
7. Holland
8. Wakelin
9. Prestigiacomo
10. Burns

Unlucky: Johnson (poor form last year hurt), Didak (has really done enough yet as opposed to those above, on his day easily top 5).

Nah he isn't yet but I've seen him play and he should be in the future. At the moment he isn't of course so replace his name with Wakelin or Ben Johnson

No particular order.
Looks about right. Going forward the performances of Richards, Rusling, T. Cloke and now Thomas will be vital.

1. Buckley - There is no explanation needed.

2. Rocca - He makes everyone on the team walk a head taller, and play a lot better. We win more than we lose when he's on the field.

3. Clement - A true leader, both by example and by words. He is a consummate professional, and our best over the last few years.

4. Tarrant - Our most dangerous player. The one guy capable of ripping apart a game with 15 marks and 5 goals.

5. Didak - Close to Tarrant in terms of danger, can also kick bags of goals, and when fit, has already shown signs of being a dangerous midfielder. Needs to get the freak injuries behind him and start affecting games in the middle.

6. Licuria - A prolific and consistent ball winner, he has shown recently the ability to go forward. We can count on him to win 20+ tough possessions each and every week. He hasn't had less than 10 possessions in 4 years.

7. Prestigiacomo - He gets the job on most big tough forwards, and his performance has a big effect on how we do on the day.

8. Fraser - Mercurial and versatile talent. Outside of the ruck contests, he is hell for many ruckmen, and up forward he is capable of kicking bags. An important one to have on the field.

9. Wakelin - The other string to our defensive bow. How many times does he go flying back into a pack and take a clutch mark while being hit from behind.

10. Holland - Quietly becoming a very multi-talented player. Probably our best tagger, but also capable of kicking goals from the midfield and certainly not a pure receiver. Also quite consistent, as his 2nd placing in the Copeland this year. For how hard he worked, I wouldn't have actually minded him winning the award.

1. Rocca-presence
2. Buckley
3. Wakelin
4. Clement
5. Fraser
6. Tazz
7. P'como
8. Holland
9. Licuria
10. Didak

Based mine on players who will hurt us the most if they are injured next year

1. A.Rocca - The presence on the forward line
2. N.Buckley - he is collingwood
3. J.Fraser - special talent with under-utilised strenghts
4. C.Tarrant - should be our main avenue to rocca coming out the back line
5. J.Clement - best shut down player
6. A.Didak - should be progressing into our best attacking mid option
7. S.Wakelin / Presti - can cover one, if both go......troubles
8. G.Richards - releases josh to become possibly our biggest weapon
9. P.Licuria - gives sooo much of himself
10. B.Johnson - dash & run

if these 10/11 can play an average of 20 games each next year the pies will make the finals

Bucks - As stated earlier, he is collingwood
Didak - Sublime Talent
Clement - General in the backline
Tarrant - On his day, unstoppable
Rocca - When he plays well, we win...
S.Wakelin / Presti - Clearly underated
Licuria - Work horse... needs to work on his disposal by foot
Holland - Great tagger
J Frazer - Hopefully "french fry" wont break his podi next season
B Johnson - Gets plenty of the ball in the backline... would like to see him play midfield

rocca HAS to be number one. he is literally the last player id want to go into a match without.

I did mine based on talent, form and importance, a bit of a mixture. Didak is very important but wasn't in my top 10, Rocca is our most important player (although if T.Cloke steps up or even Rusling it would release his burden) by far.
I marked Burns down a bit since you could tell he is in the deep end of his career last year and had declined a bit.

- A Rocca
- N Buckley
- J Fraser
- J Clement
- A Didak
- S Wakelin
- C Tarrant
- S Prestigiacomo
- P Licuria
- S Burns

Hard to put them in an order, and I am sure that isn't a correct order, but I think they are the top 10 for importance anyway. Josh Fraser is certainly top 3 for my liking. Holland unlucky to miss out.

In terms of ability or in terms of importance? I have tried to combine the two

Buckley - Still top dog for mine. When he came back second time around he was a class above everyone else even though he hadnt played for ages and wasnt match conditioned.

Rocca - A fit Rocca normally means a much improved Collingwood. Also will help the other forwards especially Tarrant and hopefully Travis. He makes other people around him play better which is a sign of his quality.

Clement - The general of the defence. Would like him to develop further into an even more creative player.

Tarrant - A fit Tarrant with Rocca alongside him should see him return to his All Australian form and make a few people eat humble pie.

Licuria - When fit our best in and under midfielder.

Didak - I am expecting a big year for Didak. Hopefully his creativity can be let loose in the midfield this year and can still contribute two goals a game.

Holland - Improving every year and with Bucks and Dids supporting in the midfield should be freed up a little. Still a very good finisher. If he belts Campo this year expect his rating to rise even higher ;)

Prestigiacomo - Got beaten once or twice last year but still very important to our defence. Doesnt get the accolades of dustbin but still does his job.

Burns - My favourite player and still scrapes in mainly for his work ethic and grunt. Hopefully he can be good in bursts this year.

Caracella/Fraser - The last spot is a toss up for me between Caracella and Fraser. When we are up and running with close to a full team Caracella will run riot as they guy can finish and knows how to crumb. If Rocca, Taz and T Cloke play a full year i would expect Caracella to kick at least 50 goals. Fraser would be the other player as he can play in a few positions but has not really asserted himself on the AFL. Hopefully a fit Fraser can play stints in the ruck and drift forward and cause some damage.

*** One player who should be in there if everyone performed to their ability would be Ryan Lonie. Maybe this will be the year.

jlc

True, JLC. Lonie has as much natural talent as any in the competiton, with his excellent left foot and very good pace. Must realise his potential as a wingman this year.

1. Rocca - team structure goes to sht if he isn't there, provides a target, physically intimidates
2. Buckley - no disrespect being at #2, still in the best 5 players in the league
3. Clement - lose him our backline loses a lot of rebound and creativity
4. Tarrant - causes matchup problems
5. Wakelin - rock solid
6. Didak - matchwinner every few weeks
7. Burns - gone downhill a bit but is still our heart and soul
8. Fraser - kills it around the ground, improves our midfield with his round the ground skills
9. Licuria - heart and soul #2
10. Prestigiacomo/Holland - Presti out means at least 4 goals to the oppo full forward, Holland fast becoming heart and soul but with goalkicking touch

1.Anthony Rocca Is A Extreamly Importent player up foward presents well and is a insparation to the younger players )
2.Nathan Buckley (He'd be in the top 10 in the AFL)
3.James Clement (Great Backman who can run with the ball rarely gets beatin )
4.Josh Fraser (Key Foward who can take important Marks at Critical times in Matches and is a handy Ruckman)
5.Paul Licuria ( Mental and Phisical Toughness work rate Outstanding and do his job no matter who hes playing on)
6.Chris Tarrant ( Gives us a Spark up Foward ability to take the big grabs and also kick the big goals)
7.Scott Burns ( Hardness,Toughness Brutal player who is hugely Underated great leader and a strong body)
8.Alan Didak ( Pure Magic great Hands in a marking situation and can kick goals that most players could only dream about)
9.Shane Wakelin (Key backman rarely gets beatin Uses the ball well and is a Leader)
10.Ryan Lonie (Superb Backman who can run the lines and set up goal with 60 metre passes and can play up foward if need be)

Thats my Opinion :thumbsu:
