Competitions TOP 20 DRAFT - 2014

[HARKER]

Easy game, as all you have to do is to give me your top 20 selections in the way you think they’ll drop.
There will be points allocated to your selections post draft, and a winner will be named, framed and immortalized.


Points will be allocated accordingly:


1. 5 Points for every player selected correctly by the team with the appropriate selection.
i.e. St.Kilda with pick #1.....Petracca, receives maximum points.
n.b. Melbourne’s picks 2 & 3 must be in their order to achieve maximum points.


2. 3 Points for every player selected in the top 20
i.e. As long as the name is selected in the top twenty in the draft, 3 points will be allocated on top of having that player in the correct order.


3. Bonus points for Correct Carlton selections: #19 = 5Pts... #28 = 7Pts... #61 = 10Pts... #65 = 12Pts.
You can just select the same player you did in your main list at #19 or hedge your bets and select another player.


Feel free to edit (Don’t duplicate) your selections any time you wish up until 7a.m. Monday 24th.
The reason we’re calling time then, is that insiders will start putting out their Phantoms, so this should make us more accountable to our own work.

It does make it easier running the eye down the same line for entry purposes.........for me at least

I haven't seen many highlights of the draft prospects yet because I have been flat out with work but I have changed a few of the rankings based on where I thought each club fell down this year.
As for smokies, I have gone for North to pull the first surprise bolter out of the draft by picking up Mcdonald after the hiding that their defence copped in their last final.
As for Carlton, I think we will go for either Blakely or Ahern depending on who is available, maybe Garlett.
Quite possible that none of the three will still be there, especially if Pickett goes top 10.
That will change a lot of mid picks because WCE are very keen to get him and if they miss out they will go the next fastest available.
Also expecting Geelong to go for speed and Collingwood could surprise by picking up DeGoey earlier than some think to try and cover for Beams.

As I said, I have NFI - I just wnat to throw everyone's thinking into chaos!!!!

Not going through the whole thing again.
Draft eve and I would have to say that I really like Blakely for his quick decision making.
He's the one that I want us to get at 19. Late phantoms are suggesting Weller but I think that is wishful thinking.
I we pick Marchbank over Blakely/Weller/Cockatoo etc I will be disappointed after we gave up pick 7 to pick up a defender (and a mid) only to pick another defender with 19.
I do know that I don't want Lamb at 19. Surely we have had our fill of inconsistent footballers over recent years.
I just hope that this draft is a good one for us.

Just think that Marchbank and all the talls will go before so a Duggan (leadship, kicking skills) will fall through, then its between Keitel and a Mendaue/slider for 28. May see us then go with a tall or two in the rookie draft to make up. I'd be over the moon with Duggan, Mendaue, McKenzie and Boekhorst though. I think with that kind of draft, we can sure up our midfield for the next generation. It has leadership, speed, skill and a bit of x-factor. Time will tell, however.
