Black is probably on the fringe, but Dal would have to be in there. Along with Hayes he carries the Saints midfield, and is still a top 20 player for CP and CL despite two well publicised tags. He might not be up in the top 30 where his quality might normally put him, but he's still in the top 50.

On Priddis: He is the leading contested possession getter and clearance player in a team that was 6-0. The only game they have lost was when he got concussed! He would be the first Eagle I put on a top 50 list. I know a lot of Eagle fans don't rate him, but he's still a champion.

That is only responsible for about 60% of the discussion on the eagles board haha

Grigg has got to be giving it a shake by now. Not sure Rance should be so high. He's been the best KPD imo but I don't think any of the KPDs really deserve to be top 20. Foley would be in the unluckies before Tuck for mine, as well. Actually I think Foley has been better than Grigg as well, he's been having a brilliant season, with at least 2 best-ons for the tigers so far.

This, some of the KP players seem to be there as they have been the best at there position and just slotted in way too high, Rance and to lesser extent Henderson have been good, but there are at least 20 odd mids that have been better.

Hi guys,

Need some help.
I am working on some rankings but can't do all the games so I need some assistance.
Essentially I'm working on a 0-10 basis.
10 being a clear BOG (I don't always award a 10, maximum 1 per game) and 0 being a terrible game.
For instance, Deledio got a 10 tonight from me (and duly received the award).
Players like Watson, Cotchin, Howlett and Maric received 9s and so forth.
If people want to write reviews of the games they are able to watch I will be able to compare these to my notes and get a more complete analysis for my top 50.
Thanks.

Not clear imo. I'd still have Kennedy, Pendlebury, Watson and Thompson ahead of him. Stanton and Hayes maybe.

I'd have Lids as a definite top 10 though.

In regards to the Swans, Kennedy, Jetta and Richards were all good last night. 4th, 5th and 6th best for us imo.

1. Kennedy (still top 3 for mine)
2. Richards (late 20's)
3. Jetta (early 30's)
4. Parker (late 40's)
5. Jack (unlucky or late 40's) - BOG last night
---------------------------------------------
6. Hannebery (unlucky)

Got the right players but I'd go:

1. Thompson
2. Pendlebury
3. Kennedy
4. Watson
5. Stanton
6. Deledio

No clear groups so far this season (eg. Thompson is a clear no.1 or there is a big gap between Kennedy and Watson), so it's not a big deal.

Top 10 will be:
1. Thompson
2. Stanton
3. Deledio
4. Pendlebury
5. Kennedy
6. Watson
7. Selwood
8. Sidebottom
9. Hayes
10. Ablett
with Dangerfield, Cotchin and Sloane the next cabs off the ranks.

As others have said Pendles should be #2 - you had him at #3 last week, so I would think it's harsh to drop him down after a 4 goal, 30 touch BOG effort against the reigning premiers..

Ess-Rich game
Stanton great again.
Crameri great, although he didn't hit the scoreboard heavily himself
Zaharakis very good
Watson not great, torched the ball in the 2nd half.
Jetta not bad
Fletch great for the 3/4 he played
Hooker very good job on Reiwoldt, yet again taking a dangerous key forward out of the game

Maric IMHO was their best
Cotchin bloody good
Deledio a good everywhere type game
Rance not that great (not a great game for defenders)

Thompson, Pendles and Kennedy are a clear-cut Top 3 imo, just have been consistently great.
Stanton and Lids are playing very well, but need to keep it up to crack that Top 3. Watson and Scott Selwood due to their consistency could also be thrown in this chasing group, Scott probably being the most vulnerable.

This top 7 is followed very closely by the group of Hayes, Cotchin, Ablett and Sidebottom, all of whom have been excellent. A number of other names could also be thrown in there, such as Sloane.

This is a real midfielders year. Defenders are sharing the load, and the forwards are hit-and-miss, reflected in the coleman.

Id probably put Beau Waters in the 50 by now. His execution can be dodgy at times, but his effort is outstanding and he doesnt give up. Would be close to leading our B&F. Also, Priddis has now missed the best part of 3 games, so that absence should be factored in to any subsequent run of form.

Just going to throw my top ten players out there, with a couple of other thoughts on players who are coming up as well.

1. Scott Thompson
2. Josh Kennedy
3. Scott Pendlebury
4. Brett Deledio
5. Brent Stanton
6. Jobe Watson
7. Joel Selwood
8. Gary Ablett Junior
9. Ryan Griffen (Absolutely killing it recently)
10. Trent Cotchin

KPP and Rucks have either missed games or been inconsistent this year, the midfielders have just shone.

Players I think are smashing it recently and should be coming up through the ranks.

Patrick Dangerfield
Ivan Maric
Steele Sidebottom
Rory Sloane
Patrick Ryder
Shaun Grigg
Nathan Foley

Probably missed a few, but had to rush it.

Yep could easilly make case for entire top 20 all being midfielder types, if not top 25 as forwards have nearly all been inconsistent, rucks are only average this year and with the a few key defenders being good in but not in the midfielders class.

My top 10 would be;

1. Thompson
2. Pendlebury
3. Kennedy
4. Watson
5. Stanton
6. Deledio
7. Hayes
8. Sidebottom
9. Selwood
10. Ablett

Ess V Rich from a non bias perspective
1.Deledio
2.Watson
3.Maric
4.Cotchin
5.Stanton
6.Crameri
7.Zaharakis
8.Howlett
9.Hurley
10.Grigg
Was a very good game of footy and both sides have alot to look forward to over the next few years.

I actually thought Sidebottom was better, his persistence, hard running and creativity was sensational.

Sidebottom's last quarter was pretty disappointing - a couple of crucial turnovers really hurt us. On the flipside, Pendles' last term was huge - despite copping a leg injury in the third, he really stepped up and was the reason we won the game in the end, IMO.

For Essendon Stanton, Watson, Ryder & Crameri stood up again. Hooker smashed yet another forward, while Zaka played another consistent game.

Fletch and Jetta are probably next rank down, while Howlett has been quietly impressive most games. Very even team at the moment, with The four above the only real standouts.
