Yes dons have copped their whack and their fans have had to go through some pain. But the reality is, they've kept their list (minus Carlisle) and have gained Parish, Francis, Redman, Tipa and this years #1 draft pick. They're going to be a very good side.

Somewhat pleased that we missed Hurley, despite his obvious ability. No doubt Hurley is a deadset jet but he doesn't solve our 2 major issues in that Boyd rucks for too long and we don't have any decent KPF options on our list.

Getting Hurley would have actually handicapped both of this.

Move on to Jackson Trengove to pair with Jordan Roughead as ruck/KPDs and find a decent CHF.

Was some real misplaced arrogance from Collingwood's organisation when Treloar signed there, and Richmond copped it just for throwing their hat in the ring (and Bartlett's comments, to an extent).

Nice to see them get a talisman type to commit. Will be a very nice fit.

Essendon's list looks nice in the longer term but let's not forget we rinsed them by 87 points when they had a full squad to choose from. I don't think they'll raise much hell next season.

The afl is absolutely one of the worst run major sporting codes, allowing a team that has tarnished the essence of the game for so long to be rewarded with the coveted first pick in the draft

I really feel for Brisbane, they really need that 1st pick, not only for the player but for all the rest that comes with it. Yet it goes to a cheating team who will win many more gams than them next year. AFL should have given the pick based on their ladder position when they lost their points what ever year that was.

Anyway they wont get anywhere near the top 4, they will stick with tigers and pies around 8,9,10. Happy for those clubs to stick in the middle

Sad to see the old thread go, let's shut this one down at either 1954 OR 2017/18.

Richmond getting Prestia is a good move for them, I wonder if it now shakes Ellis/mystery Richmond player loose? Could also be an interesting dynamic if we both emerge as suitors for Cloke but they need to offload a player to us to gain the currency.
