We simply have to sign Libba. His best is A grade and if he gets even close to that he's very important to us.
People forget how well he was training last pre-season and if he's training already it's an absolute no brainer. Forget this one year deal stuff - if he wants two years do it. He's coming off a knee so will be signing for unders anyway.
We are not talking about if he retires or walks away, different thing entirely. If he chooses to ditch a contract from us for another club, well after the FA window closes, its basically a big middle finger to the club, we could have gotten a similar compensation level to Dahlhaus which would have been heaps handy. Instead if he walks into another club, we've lost an at his healthiest, best and most committed is potentially top 5-10 in the league in tackles and clearances, for basically nothing at all. Hence it would be a failure on our part, unless he stuffed us around.
i agree with you totally however do you think players begin to lose significant value following multable Knee reconstructions ?

I know he lacks fwd pressure and the knees are an eternal worry, but we have the $, any time you can add a guy who could very likely win our goalkicking award in 2019 for cheap, you should do it. The sad part is Menzel could win it and Lloyd finish runner up

It feels like Libba and his management are playing hardball with his contract. We didn’t land a big fish during trading and have heaps of room in our salary cap. Who are we going to pay to reach 98% of the cap? I would rather give Libba a two year deal with performance trigger clauses for the second year than try and fail again next year going for someone like Kelly.

What's sad about that? If they kick 40 goals each, they've done their job.

Just get him Dogs.

Sad that two unwanted players at their previous clubs could come in and lead our goalkicking in their first year. More so a reflection of our fwd line and lack of goalkickers is my point.

Kicking goals is the hardest skill in footy, in the past three seasons Menzel’s played 50 games and kicked 100 goals. If your body is capable of that output around goals you can physically put pressure on as well. Given the rubbish players that have been given the last couple of list spots in recent years, I don’t see any downside with getting Menzel.

When is the cut-off time to decide whether Honeychurch, Campbell and Libba are getting recontracted? It has to be coming up soon, right? It seems like a lot of clubs are finalising their lists this week.
