Should have seen the Saints board. Many are practically begging for someone to take Newnes off them. Has quite a lot of Clangers. Wingers need to be one of the cleanest users of the ball. Something we are needing, along with a bit of pace, in the wing position. We already struggle for clean delivery inside 50 to our forwards.
Newnes has (statistically) one of the best conversion rates from his inside 50 entries in the competition. Considering how poor Saints are in this area, it's quite surprising that Newnes would be ranked so high in that area. If we had more list spots available, I'd have been happy to try target the likes of Newnes, Bonar, Gray, etc. but as it stands, we will be drafting the minimum number of players, and don't even have space for any more than Bruce and Keath at this rate

Does that include or exclude Dickson? I believe you are expecting Dickson to be retained for 2020 when you concluded your post, is that right?

For the record, I'd prefer to have Dickson in 2020 than Newnes.

I'm assuming Roberts is 100% gone, then it's up in the air whether Webb/Dickson play on (they would be 2nd and 3rd spots). So if Dickson plays on while Webb is delisted, then there would be no space for any other trade ins, unless I'm forgetting someone.

Would prefer Dickson over Newnes. Don't hate the idea of taking a punt on Bonar, but only if he costs us no more than Pick 53 on a 2 year deal. Pretty risky addition but could pay off big time

Senior list:
34 players contracted for 2020 beyond
(2020: Wood, Trengove, Schache, Jong, Lynch, Crozier, Lloyd, Duryea, B.Smith, Vandermeer, Greene, Porter, Suckling, Cavarra, Hayes)
(2021: Richards, Cordy, Wallis, Bontempelli, Lipinski, Liberatore, Le.Young, Williams)
(2022: Macrae, Johannisen, McLean, Daniel, Dunkley, English, West, Dale)
(2024: Hunter, Naughton)

6 senior list positions yet to be confirmed, likely to be filled by:
Bruce
Keath
Dickson/Webb/Roberts/or a surprise DFA
Pick 13
Late pick
Late pick (Rookie upgrade)

Rookie list:
R.Smith
Sweet
Khamis
La.Young
Gardner (mid-season rookie position)

I would think Dickson gets offered a 2020 contract ahead of Webb/Roberts, but he could be delisted if we are after another trade target or perhaps a DFA.

I would like La.Young to be upgraded but suspect R.Smith may be our choice.

Our late/ rookie pick likely to be CCP

Gives them 3 and 8 this year - unless they trade one of them for a surprise in the next 30 hours!
If their interest in Weightman is true, then probably allows them to NAB him at 8, instead of 3 which is high for him. And allows them to target someone else at 3. This draft must appeal to their needs hence the move.
