That's the whole game. Why would West sign that though? He nowhere near enough runs on the board to command big money over a long term, he'd be locking himself into below average money if he signed anything longer. Its fairly straight forward, he kills it next year and then locks in an extension next off-season on higher coin.

Taking his talents to SouthDunkley decision coming in t-minus 24 hours according to Beveridge (the Riley kind) on the AFL trade wrap.
If only but wont happenImagine if Dunkley says he's staying....
But that's the sort of 'I know everything' attitude that seems to be the issue with Beveridge.
I don't care if he's 80, 20, or 100 years old. The opinions are valid and Beveridge and the football department would do well to listen to some outside voices. We might even improve...
Imagine if Dunkley says he's staying....
2 year deals ******* suck...what is with the obsession with 2 year deals...the guy plays one season and then you're back at the deal table again and everyone has to go through the "will they stay or go?!" bullshit again.
True but I'm a big fan of the numbers 3 or 4.Better than getting stuck with seven year deals like Collingwood did with Treloar and Grundy

They worked well ...... not!Better than getting stuck with seven year deals like Collingwood did with Treloar and Grundy
Westy now needs to take the opportunity with both hands and replace Dunkley. That’s what I love to see
Yeah this, West is a gun. I agree with others that he needs to improve his tank - at 23 next year this needs to be up to scratch so he needs a big preseason. But that’s genuinely the only knock I have on him from moving into the middle so his two way running is not an issue for us.I've been in the hope-he-stays camp - until today.
Westy's signature has changed that.
I'm excited now for the trade deal, firmly believing that young Rhylee will flourish in the midfield...
...as long as he doesn't have to ruck![]()
Uber is 3 minutes awayHas Dunkley f***ed off yet?
Herald Sun has article about club describing our plans for Lobb ... does anyone have HS access? Thanks in advanceUber is 3 minutes away
I'm OK with them. Means the club doesn't carry the risk of long term issues and the player is backing themselves to perform.2 year deals ******* suck...what is with the obsession with 2 year deals...the guy plays one season and then you're back at the deal table again and everyone has to go through the "will they stay or go?!" bullshit again.
And making Timmy more effective because he isn't run into the ground solo ruckingHe doesn't take us to a top 4 side based on performance (ala 50 goal season etc)
He gets us to top 4 based on structure and experience (Being a experience second ruck and another marking target)
We can do what Collingwood have been doing and swap the pair of the matchup isn’t workingAnd making Timmy more effective because he isn't run into the ground solo rucking
