Sorry everyone kind of stuffed the copy and paste job on the article I posted up. Just edited the article and fixed it up
You can see in the photo of Darcy where his leg became infected, it looks nasty.

Assuming Sam Darcy's height gets updated to 209cm+ was claimed during the season last year, we've got 3 of the top 10 tallest players in the league. Darcy, English and Lobb playing together would easily be the tallest trio to have taken the field together in any AFL game since the beginning of the league.
I spoke to his dad, Luke, down at Sorrento over NYE and he said Sam is 211cm

I'm glad you specified it was Luke. Not sure I would have had any idea who his dad was otherwise
Oh, yes you would have, Nat...

You're just being cynical...I mean, picky...I mean sarcastic...sorry, I mean contrary...sorry, vexacious. No, I mean pedantic....

Ha! ...cheeky

Here's a picture of 3 generations of Darcy's (David, Luke and Sam) for the young ones amongst us that don't know the significance of the Darcy name at the Bulldogs...

Narkle? Mid depth, too talented to not be on a list, and got himself fitter according to media. Haven’t seen or heard much about how Poulter is going. Seems logical to wait until mid season though I guess.

When was the last time we went into the season with an open list spot? I like the flexibility it brings us.

I think you can look at it two ways.
Glass half full - it gives us opportunity to fill a position of need if one or two LTIs hit in a particular area.
Glass half empty - we have left our run too late and only have the choice of players that every other club has assessed as not good enough.

I choose to pray for no injuries.

2019 when we drafted Ryan Gardner
I don't think that's true, I believe we went into 2019 with a full list but opened up 2 spots during the year with Picken and Boyd retiring in April and May respectively. I don't believe we've gone into a season with an open spot since the SSP and midseason draft has existed.

2021 we had a list spot available Sam Lloyd retired we had some kid and Anthony Scott training with the club over the preseason

Yep. My point was about having a spot going into the season (post rookie draft and SSP).

I think 2021 & 2023 are the only 2 years where the SSP has been an option for us, and 2019 & 2023 the only years where we've had a spot available to use during the midseason draft.

Probably use the pick on someone from our VFL team that’s having a good season
