Are people forgetting why Treloar is with us in the first place?
Collingwood wanted to trade him to GC and he refused to go north.
I get the family thing, but if it wasn't enough to make him go then, why would it be now.

Dunks is there would be the main difference

It all started from a triple M segment today likely nothing in it.
I don't think anyone would want him to move on more so if he wants to, which as you say he didn't want to a couple years ago. Working away from your wife and baby can be hard and potentially he has changed his mind about going to Queensland. Very different situation to the Pies though, they did whatever they could to push him out.

I don’t buy the dunks thing, they’re not children. But the family is a huge difference, I mean at the time he didn’t want to uproot his family to a different state, that’s completely changed now. Plus he’s spent a lot of time there since maybe he likes it more now?

Dont think you can just write off the fact that his wife and toddler live in a different state

The whole 3rd party contract clause would kick in. If Treloar did go to Gold Coast, Collingwood would be off the hook with his contract and I'm sure we wouldn't be kicking in anything, so Gold Coast would have to wear the whole $900K.

Considering they gave away their first round pick for nothing just to free up cap space last year, this whole scenario is impossible.

Once more journos making sh1t up.

They still might be prepared to pay part of the salary they agreed to with us to help make the deal happen. They’re not obligated to, but they might prefer $150k to Gold Coast than $300k to us.

Could be something like Pies pay $150k, we keep paying $150k, Treloar takes a $150k cut, and GCS pay $450k.

I actually don’t think Collingwood are allowed to be involved at all, and Adz would want to be pretty keen on getting there to take that much of a haircut

I call bullsh1t

Interesting, there was talk that Collingwood might still pay some amount (although smaller) of Grundy’s contract if he moved on from the Dees but that could have been completely ill-informed.

IIRC Treloar at the time of the trade said this will be the last time he changes clubs. We just need to get him to 100 games , the athletic profile of his kids likely to be off the charts. Have to keep the Father/ Son Father/ Daughter production line going!!

Conspiracy theory time but English was the only player that didn't stick around after open training yesterday to talk to the fans and do signatures. Probably unrelated but can't lie it crossed my mind that he might feel uncomfortable if he's going

Easy explanation. Tim was booked on a Boag's Bewery tour which clashed with latter part of open training. Reports are that at the tastings included post-tour he got absolutely smashed.

But that's ok, he's now working on the Jeff Thomson bowling theory:
"I always bowl better with a really bad hangover."

Expect angry Tim today.

The Treloar to Queensland thing is such low hanging fruit. Reeks of filling in air time. Until I hear something more substantial I’m not giving it a second thought
At this time of year, every club is looking at every player.

So easy to start a story, as you say.

So, how about, "Dogs looking at Butters"?

Has as much validity (maybe more!) as the Treloar suggestion, hey?
