Pick 8 alone wouldn’t be enough?

Being in the process of recovering from a recent infection, I do understand your points 1-3 above. The point I was makingWhat??? You realise being vaxed doesn't prevent you from;
1. Getting it
2. Transmitting it
3. Getting the full strain
Vaxed or not, one player isn't going to make a difference to the "dangers" and anyone who says different is either naive, ignorant or a lying politician.
The team wants to win flags, pretty simple really and if Jones can help then I'd imagine they would be happy having him.

Agree , pick 8 gets it done I reckonDunkley's value is a little out of whack here.
He's worth pick 8 and a downgrade of lower picks.
The people thinking we're getting a top ten pick and change for a player with Dunkley's deficiencies are in for a shock.

They still haven't yet addressed what looks to be their main problem, which is figuring out who kicks all of their goals - besides Fritsch the cupboard is fairly bare. They can't rely on McDonald or Brown moving forward, and Jackson looks more likely to be going than staying.Definitely interesting - hard to say for sure without knowing the ins and outs of all the contracts, but it does feel like instead of handing big money out they're giving players a great deal of security while they have a top-line team. Offsets the risks of giving out big deals but makes it harder to add to your team in that 3rd-6th year.
I think it's a smart move. They're clearly the best team in the comp at their best and have no real reason to slow down in the next 3ish years. If they can pull off a couple premierships with this group and aren't just backloading them all, they're going to be hard to stop for a long time.
If that did happen where would we put the statue to The Bont? Most sporting statues seem to get put at the MCG but the Bont has played more games at Marvel so i think that would be the best spot. Near one of the bigger gates. It should be The bont in an iconic pose (like the EJ kicking style at the roundabout) so maybe the Bont with his arms outstretched turnng to the crowd after kicking a goal. The sooner we get this agreed the sooner the statue can go up.Few on here acting like if Bont sits next to him he will get a super Covid and die on the spot
It's a good point. Kozi and Fritsch are/can be top 20 goal kickers but they do need taller options around them. They still haven't yet addressed what looks to be their main problem, which is figuring out who kicks all of their goals - besides Fritsch the cupboard is fairly bare. Maybe the multiple long terms deals free up cap space to be a little more aggressive in plugging that hole but they must be getting tight regardless. Brayshaw's been fine for the last couple of years but another big head knock or two and they could be in strife quickly.
In saying that, I don't mind the risk. There's definitely a go hard or go home element to it.
Something to consider about recruiting Jones is the effect on the players and officials at the club. How comfortable would they feel about getting on planes, buses and sharing change rooms and hotel rooms with an unvaccinated team mate? If one person can act on conscience or belief not to be vaccinated then others can have the same reasons plus the added issue of medical science not to associate with that person.

You'd think if Jackson goes they will be getting some pretty incredible assets back that they'll probably use in that area of the ground. Interesting to see what happens.
Sean Darcy is an RFA at the end of 2024, same time as Timmy. If Jackson goes to Freo that will eliminate them from any English sweepstakes.Lobb to Melbourne makes all the sense in the world.
Freo shooting themselves in the foot here. Jackson is much more suited to more ruck minutes than as a forward. Sean Darcy isn't losing the number 1 ruck role.
Jackson is much more suited to the eagles, with Nic Nat being near the end. Not that the eagles will spend all this draft capital at the commencement of a rebuild.
WCE might know they've got English for free in 2 years and will use the next 24 months elsewhere?Lobb to Melbourne makes all the sense in the world.

The whole Jackson situation feels a bit weird tbh. Just the vibe of it. I wouldn't be surprised if this turns into a Buddy situation and he ends up somewhere nobody expected him to.Lobb to Melbourne makes all the sense in the world.

Personally can't see why clubs are so into him. He will never be a #1 ruck and is a shite forward why pay a shiteload for that? The whole Jackson situation feels a bit weird tbh. Just the vibe of it. The vaccine never stopped the spread. Jones has just put his health more at risk. Should be no issue.
Wow....According to Perth radio - Bulldogs have offered Liam Jones a 3 year deal

To be honest, and this applies to the Lobb situation as well, I think people have a distorted view of what second rucks are/should be capable of.It's a head scratcher thats for sure. Jackson is far more suited to the main ruck role. If anything stylistically he is in the mould of NicNat with good athleticism, link up play.
His marking numbers are actually pretty poor. Especially for a player who isn't getting banged up by the main ruck every week.
