I think a player we could look at is Xavier O’Halloran who is somewhat on the fringe at the Giants. Still only 23 and would bring some great rotation across half forward and through the midfield, plays hard and has an eye for goal. Has made real impact at times as the sub for the orange team.
He’s one for the romantics on this board as his grandfather Ron McCarthy was in our premiership side in 1954.

I would love Xav as a wing option. Maybe future more inside but still think he would be great for us.

In theory a 2-3 round pick would be his value.

Much rather him to Duursma or other options mentioned.

Think he only recently re-signed with the Giants.

A former Western Jet as well, so if we were Geelong it would be a 'coming home' story. 🙄

I like O'halloran, but the obvious issue with him is he kicks more goals than points, so not a good fit.

But the romantic notion of the grandson of a 54 premiership player is attractive.

(He never met his grandfather though, who died just before he was born at a relatively young 54yo.)

Harvey Stephens was also a premiership winning grandfather of a former player....look how that turned out...:drunk:

Not enough breaking exclusive for it to be real

Also Tommy typically inserts himself into it a lot more and makes it all about him.

Anyone heard any updates lately on whether a possible Melbourne Airport new runway and or extension in future decades may or may not/possibly impact on Essendon training?

That was my favourite.

Tom plane arc was my fav timeline

Watching Cal Ward’s season has been very reassuring in terms of what Jack Macrae can do for a lot longer yet. Neither are fast, both are tough with clean hands, even if Ward is a better mark and shot for goal, Macrae has other qualities that I think allow him to thrive for some time.
