Sanders looks quicker this year than last year. I actually thought he showed an ability to get through contested situations with good agility and speed.

I couldn’t disagree more with your point on his intent. He always plays the game with good intent, as do all out of all players.
Jesus that is a very one sided take on our whole side.

MaxiBont - how is JUH’s intent going? In relation to football that is.

You know what I meant. How many of the players do that played this season did you think played with bad intent?
Not many to be fair. I do remember not only myself noticing Sanders not running defensively with intent a few times this year. I’m not dying on this hill alone I tell ya!

I do like players like Garcia and West to be honest. You know how hard they will go every time. This is whom I am comparing Sanders with in my cerebral mess.

Sanders is the only Midfield swing player that I feel comfortable giving up in a trade for Wilkie. He'll be a star, no doubt in my mind, but he looks to be a slow burn type player. Still lacks composure at times and his preference to Handball the pill over kicking it, often actively harms us.

Whilst Freijah could genuinely be anything in the next few years. We call him Baby Bont for a reason.

Sanders and our 1st.

For Wilkie! F that. For Butters yeah. They can have a 1st and 2nd for Wilkie.
They hold all the cards in this ordeal.

-- Contracted until 2026
-- Remains a premiere back of this competition
-- Poised to take up the Captaincy.

Butters will be a RFA, PA won't be able to match what we'll offer. Treloar, Libba and the departure of JUH. Will free up so much.

I Don't want to give up Sanders. But I doubt a measly second rounder will do much. Especially given the Saints can't draft a Gun to save their lives

If Wilkie were to request a trade, I see Power offering something like a 1st, 2nd, future 2nd and Garcia or similar, if he could be convinced to go there for more midfield time. Doubt that would get it done, but I reckon that would be our limit. If still a hard no from them then get Butts and prepare for Butters next year.
No dogs player will be involved.

Also, contrary to what a few were saying earlier, Sanders handballing to players in space was top-notch this year. Considering he's an inside mid who's kicked 13 goals, I'd say there's plenty to work with and am expecting a big step up next year. Either way, he'll end up at Tassie, if there is a Tassie, and we'll be handsomely compensated to fill the draft pick gap from selling the farm for our spreadable dairy superstar.

Sanders isn't even top 10 in his age bracket. He's tracking to be an okay player right now but doesn't have any elite traits.
Disagree, in another team with a midfield that doesn’t bat as deep as ours he would be a standout young mid. Pretty difficult when you have Bont, Richards, Libba, Trelour and Kennedy to compete with.
I am with you i think he will be a star. Have mentioned on here a few times that being played out of position will make him leave and we will regret big time.
I think he gets more mid minutes this year. Bont plays forward and behind the ball a little more, Libba managed a little more this year, same with Trelor.

I wouldn't be so sure.

The St.Kilda boards list managers seem pretty confident that one, more or all of Freijah, Naughton, Richards or Jesus Christ himself will definitely be involved in a trade.

Should Wilkie request one.

Which of course they are equally confident will never happen.

A first rounder is a lot for a player approaching 30 who wants out. Clubs and list managers are more reasonable than bigfooty posters. It's a business deal at the end of the day. In soccer a 30 year old with a year to go on a contract leaves for steak knives, unless they are in the elite bracket.

I doubt St Kilda has spoken to every player. Probably our top 8 or so.
Only to the players they'd be interested in, doubt they asked Poulter or Baker.
Any insights into what our offer would be, pick wise?
I'm not sure sorry. He has told the dogs he wants a week to think about it after the Bevo chat (likely waiting on a revised offer from the Saints) when/if he comes to the club and says he wants a trade things will move pretty quickly.

Ouch. Not a single player even expressing any interest... that's genuinely shocking. I still reckon one or two surprises will pop up during Trade Week. They always do.
The players they were interest in all weren't interested, they didn't contact the management of every player.
