I'd trade Sanders in a heartbeat if it landed us a genuine KPD and another solid pick. We all know Sanders is likely gone when Tassie comes in and there’s likely no midfield time for him next year.

Butts + 16 for Sanders is something I’d do.

I’d then offer up 10 + F1 + F1 for Butters and try and take a kid at 16.

Yeah sorry there is no way the club trades Sanders, even if that included getting Butts. Even though I’d love to see us start making some tough calls and take some risks it’s just not gonna happen.

Let’s face it, we’ve always been ultra conservative when it comes to the trade period. I don’t think we’ll ever see a high risk/high reward trade done anytime soon.
Tom Boyd.

I thought most people on this forum didn't rate Sanders 😂. So do we think he will be good or not (genuine question)? I've always thought he has some elite poise and can freeze opponents with his fakes but the biggest issue is his confidence levels. Bigger then he plays and has a small burst of speed but rarely shows it. So how do we actually rate him?

If Sanders is out the door when Tassie hits the league then yes but if he is still undecided then he is worth a lot more than a smallish KPD. Imagine if we get Butters what the future looks like with him Sander’s, Frejiah and Richards.

Does Tassie offer more for Sanders when they come knocking though?
My thoughts on this trade period are two fold.

1) I believe Marcus Bontempelli deserves to feel like the club is having a serious tilt at another flag in the next 2-3 years

2) Bevo cannot be sitting in 6-10 place for 2 seasons.

So really it’s not about whether Sanders would get us more, but really what he could get us right now.

If it’s Butts plus a foot in the door for Butters you have to take it.

We would need 3 first rounders to offer Port.

crows can chase Sanders all they want doesn’t mean Sanders agrees to the trade.

Can’t see him going anywhere bar Tassie in two years time. And we’ll get more for him then as well.

I’m rather bullish on Hynes becoming an important rotating mid as well
Was disappointing that Fremantle jumped ahead of us to pick Murphy Reid because I believe he was our first choice but I’m quietly happy with the Hynes selection

The worst part about trade week is when some journo or even some Bf poster puts out a rumour or comment about player X asking the question of player Y and then the pages of debate that follow in here about something that is almost certainly not going to occur.

I remember going through around 60 pages when the Tom Boyd rumour first came out. Good Times.

I think a lot of people want to be optimistic due to a combination of training reports etc. from his first pre-season immediately after drafting him seeming really good, but also as a way to not have to face up to the fact that maybe we executed a bad trade to specifically trade up for him.

I would consider trading Sanders only because he hasn't extended and feel that he will go to tassie.
I am a big fan and have said that he will leave as bevo playing him out of position.
There is no world that he is worth the same as butts. Would only do it if what we got would get us butters

Understanding players tour facilities all the time but surely Butters wouldn’t tour now if he wasn’t genuinely interested in coming across for next year. We just need him to request a trade & then Port will buckle.

That's the key in all of this. This year, next year or whenever. It's the requesting a trade but that shifts it into a whole new area.

Zak Jones, Zak Butters and Jordan Butts has a lot of synchronicity. Would make us serious contenders next year.
