Overpaying for a mediocre Butts isn't the answer either

We also have Croft as well as the ability to change structure and haveWe aren’t getting any big names but I don’t see any issue picking up a depth player on the cheap in case someone gets injured. Right now our only back up depth is Gardner.
Something tells me money is also getting tightGold coast would be hoping Lombard and Rogers can come on fast for 2026. Small forward/half forward was already a weakness but now lose Ainsworth and Rosas Jnr aswell as Budarick who played there this year.
Correct and the question is why was he the one chosen in those moments over others.Busslinger was subbed for extra run and was pushed forward in the last quarter because Walker couldn't get a kick
Flanders and Ainsworth were on decent money but I agree.Something tells me money is also getting tight
He was performing better then Lobb and JOD however given his inexperience was chosen as the one,Correct and the question is why was he the one chosen in those moments over others.
Think they're trying to move on their 15-25 range players on high coinFlanders and Ainsworth were on decent money but I agree.
I think it's more nuanced than that - if we get someone that releases JOD to play more of a roaming/third man up role or defence works better. I rate Buss but I still don't think he's ready. Can someone actually name a defender they think we should have targeted? The only one I've seen mentioned is Tyler Young. What other KPDs are going to other clubs? Serong, Aleek??
We tried with Wilke, Silvagni, Butts and all said no. The market is very thin and we have had a crack at shaking one out.
Some are acting as we are sitting on our hands, clubs like North and Swans desperately need key backs as well and who are they getting in? Fact is there isn't a lot around this year.
I'm not comfortable with our KPD stocks next year but you can't be just getting anyone in just because. They have to be better then what we have.
I'm very big on what Hynes will develop into.if Elijah Hollands didnt have so many issues he would of been a great get reckon he is the type of player we need at HF
Fit Flea hopefully Dovaston this year and El Souki next year and we will have a plethora with those 2 West and hopefully Arty kicking onI'm very big on what Hynes will develop into.
More than most Bulldog fans I'm guessing. I like Dolan too. I'm less concerned about our forward line than I am our defence.
He was subbed due to inexperience, despite being our best defender (by far) on the day.Correct and the question is why was he the one chosen in those moments over others.
I didn't say this year. I said recent years. How so?
They offered 650k to a fairly unproven JSOS and 1.2+ to Wilkie
One of Taylor, Sharp, or Grjl. Should be chasing pick 6 hard imo.Could we pinch pick 6 and draft X Taylor?
Likely gone by then I'd sayCould we pinch pick 6 and draft X Taylor?
Loves Adz as well. Lives with him & Kimmy, I think. Are you just getting this from the media jerks? (Who was it that was quoted - Edmund and Quornz?)
It was only this season that Sanders and club were reasserting their love for each other and Ryley was saying very positive stuff about staying.
I know things can change but it's not quite time to toss the toys out of the cot. Yet.
Alex Keath was a pretty good addition thereI didn't say this year. I said recent years.
In the last year or two everybody has finally woken up to the fact that we don't have the personnel we'd like in defence.
I have posted elsewhere that we did very little on the key defender front between drafting Naughton (2017) and Busslinger (2022). They were the years of missed opportunity, especially when we converted Naughton into a forward after a promising debut year in defence. We got in quite a few stop gaps and along the way we converted ageing forwards (Bruce and Lobb) but didn't draft any long term youngsters. O'Donnell fell into our lap by another path but even that was in 2022.
We are now paying the price.
