yes but a lot more athletic than them both... if we structure the ground better with a new system and slow the ball getting in I think his attributes would benefit our backline eventually
North are looking at him as they're in the market for a 3rd tall/interceptor. All of Croft/Buss/JOD/Lobb are capable of that role to varying degrees (I'd have JOD and Lobb clearly above, Buss slightly ahead and Croft below him). I think its a true lockdown defender or pass at this point.Exactly, I wouldn't say he is the big defender we need... Though, he might for other roles for the right price
It's in my post that you quoted. But if it needs to be stated more explicitly:So you're all over all the ways in which we're failures, but do you have a suggestion to fix it? We can't make a 25-year-old full back in his prime choose to come to us.
id have frost as a backup... at worst he costs you nothing... from the bits I have seen of him he is at least physical and has a crackThis is my hope. But still worried about Gardy being the only depth option.
May as well just bring Frost in.

Eventually I agree. However, one thing he is though skinny, is aggressive at the contest. Would actually develop him at both ends at the moment. He will learn from opposition defenders as a forward and Vis Versa. Key is play him and to be injury free to build more of a base over summeryes but a lot more athletic than them both... if we structure the ground better with a new system and slow the ball getting in I think his attributes would benefit our backline eventually
Wood Sell or Sell Wood?If you don't think Sellwood can solve all of our problems next year then I've got some wood to sell you
He has closing speed too so can keep up in a bevo game style.id have frost as a backup... at worst he costs you nothing... from the bits I have seen of him he is at least physical and has a crack
I think Croft would be great for our bakline aswell but as you say, eventually is the key word there.yes but a lot more athletic than them both... if we structure the ground better with a new system and slow the ball getting in I think his attributes would benefit our backline eventually
I'd certainly prefer him over Frost, May and McGovern in current forms. In all honesty given choices available, if no one offers Jones a position and he wants to play, Rookie him and give him a development role. Even where he is now with age and injuries he is still better than some of the options being put up by a margin
Fine - send Naughton back then (and cue the general pile on….). We could completely repurpose and send Bont to CHF, Darcy and Croft up front and then Naughton down back.Croft isn't what we need skinnier then JOD and Buss
So take out our highest goal kicker replace him with our best midfielder and isolate DarcyFine - send Naughton back then (and cue the general pile on….). We could completely repurpose and send Bont to CHF, Darcy and Croft up front and then Naughton down back.
What we don’t need is what we did in 2025. I can’t see any new blood coming to help in 2026 so it’s going to have to come from within.
But he does cost something.id have frost as a backup... at worst he costs you nothing... from the bits I have seen of him he is at least physical and has a crack
Every chance we only take two picks in the draft and upgrade JOD as our third mandatory list change. But he does cost something.
He costs a list spot which are at a premium, as it is we will more than likely have to delist some players to bring in draft picks this year.
at the moment I believe we have 2 list spots available?
Marras spot will be taken by Budarick and Khamis is no certainty to be traded.
We have already delisted Scott/Jones/Duryea(retired)But he does cost something.

Feels like we are trying and move up as much as possible take best available save late pick for Darcy and upgrade JODEvery chance we only take two picks in the draft and upgrade JOD as our third mandatory list change.
Scott, Duryea, Poulter and Baker are all rookies. We have already delisted Scott/Jones/Duryea(retired)
JJ likely gone now as will Poulter and Coffield
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Sellwood take Duryea's spot alreadyWe have already delisted Scott/Jones/Duryea(retired)

Maybe Marra, 33, and Buku pick for Budarick and 18.I don't understand the interest in pick 6 either, I'd rather keep our first and use our other assets that would be required to get up to 6 to either get our second pick higher or move into next year.
Apologies thought Scott was the only oneScott, Duryea, Poulter and Baker are all rookies.
MSD go onto the rookie listCorrect me if I'm wrong but didn't Sellwood take Duryea's spot already
How anyone can be certain of this is beyond me. Given what we know of talls and given he's never done a full AFL pre-season, it makes no sense that he won't show signs of improvement.Plenty of people saying Busslinger will never improve.

Walker borrowed Weightmans spot and occupies a rookie spot next year which Duryea clears for him. Sellwood filled a rookie we left open after last years draft.Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Sellwood take Duryea's spot already
I for one think he will improve tactically, I guess people would like to see a touch more physicality and desperation in his gameHow anyone can be certain of this is beyond me.
