The contracted to 2029, third generation, father on the board of directors, family is Bulldog royalty, Darcy who is about to have his two younger brothers join him on the team in the next 3 years, that Darcy? Sure you don't mean Darcy Moore or Sean Darcy?I think they are looking to offer a trade in next years trade period.
Sounds like a Hawks person was talking to a mate and said if NAS is worth $4m over 2-years then Darcy would be worth a $10m over 4-years. And then that’s been translated to “Hawks are targeting …”The contracted to 2029, third generation, father on the board of directors, family is Bulldog royalty, Darcy who is about to have his two younger brothers join him on the team in the next 3 years, that Darcy? You'd have better luck prying Bont out than Darcy.
Suppose all you can do is try tho, good luck to them.
Hawks would have to offer up something in the realm of 6+ first round picks and a player or two to pry out a contracted till 2029 Darcy, plus convince him to even want to nominate.Sounds like a Hawks person was talking to a mate and said if NAS is worth $4m over 2-years then Darcy would be worth a $10m over 4-years. Also every team would find a way to fit Darcy in, but KPF is the last thing the Hawks need to be targeting. Makes absolutely no sense.
An for his first year Gowers was good and kicked the most goals for them in the season. He just couldn't back it up.How much responsibility does Bevo take for all you've just listed?
And some of the other baffling decisions re team selection and gifting some players games and others not having the same opportunity?
Remember, this is the man that pulled rank and chose Gowers, against the recruiters wishes.

I don’t think these 2 understand how FA works. Zak will go to wherever he wants and PA will need to facilitate a trade (as per an uncontracted player which he will be) or accept the compo pick - or lose him for free in the PSD. Limiting it to Carlton, Hawthorn and Essendon (and Melbourne) is wishful thinking. Am I missing something here?
Maybe they’d give us Hustwaite and Gia since everyone desperately wants him at the clubInteresting
Wonder if we can get Cam McKenzie out or if we’ll have to settle for Henry Hustwaite
Hopefully north Melbourne come around again.I wouldn't be shocked if Dogs trade out first rounder for 2026 first rounder
The weird part was suggesting we should have traded Sanders to Adelaide for a future pick to help with the Butters trade while failing to notice Sanders is out of contract next year and Adelaide is in the same state as Port. That us, Geelong and Collingwood won’t have the picks to satisfy PA but Carlton, Essendon, Hawthorn and Melbourne will.
The other part the numpties keep missing is the fact Walker is almost a moral to go top 3 already which makes their 2 first rounders already untradable as they'll need them to match the bidClubs that the commentators barrack for, just a coincidence of course.
We can’t afford to get complacent though. Even with FS players. All jokes aside, we will have to get used to the 'Club XYZ' coming after Darcy for his entire career.
We've done incredibly well to have him locked away for another 4 seasons to limit the noise.
We can’t afford to get complacent though. Even with FS players.
And “locked away” no longer has much weight when we’re talking player contracts. It gives the club a small amount of power over a player but if they are determined to leave mid-contract it will still happen.
Or that the club is desperate to keep Sanders and see him as the staple of our midfield long termThe weird part was suggesting we should have traded Sanders to Adelaide for a future pick to help with the Butters trade while failing to notice Sanders is out of contract next year and Adelaide is in the same state as Port.
So, our mission, as a collective, is to death ride Port to the bottom next year.He is a restricted free agent, so Port still have the right to match a contract. But yeah he doesn't have to accept their contract and then it's draft, but he doesn't seem like he'd do that.
Dream scenario is Port somehow finish bottom 4 then we don't lose a pick at all.
Otherwise we offer 3 firsts which is all we reasonably can, and I think would have to eventually be accepted as he's out of contract (if he nominates us).
You say that but as soon as another club has a random player "slide" they overpay because they want their guy.I assume we’d have to give up another later future pick for this.
Seems like no one wants firsts in this draft.
Exclusive
Hawks have offered a mega deal to McNeil
12 year deal at 1.8c per year
Dogs can only go up to 1.2cCan we match? I'm not sure.

Still hard to believe that the club chose not to pick up a guy like Steven Mayessentially for free during this trade period.
He could have been an immediate solution to our defensive problems for the 2026 season.
Why weren’t we interested?
Why are people so worried about him? Supposedly he doesn’t get along with people that well, so what?
How fragile is our culture that it’s not expected to be able to cope with a guy like that?
Not a guy that takes drugs and gets other people onto them, not a guy who hangs out with criminals, just a guy that isn’t everyones cup of tea.![]()
Melbourne supporter I work with, whose husband’s a copper, reckons he did a similar act to Noah Balta outside a bayside pub, except was smart enough to avoid being caught on camera.Still hard to believe that the club chose not to pick up a guy like Steven Mayessentially for free during this trade period.
