Which players on our list would you consider trading? Personally I would place our players into 3 groups. Take any offer, Trade at the right price and Untouchable.

Take any offer:
Simmonds, Polak, Brown, Bowden, McMahon, Pettifer, Oakley-Nichols, Hughes, King

Trade at right price:
Thursfield, Raines, Edwards, Polo, Newman, Putt, Tuck, Jackson, Coughlan, Schultz, Pattison, Hislop, Thomson, Gourdis, White, Nahas, Connors, Moore, Browne

Untouchables:
Delidio, Reiwoldt, Cotchin, Richo, McGuane, Rance, Morton, Vickery, Tambling, Cousins, Post, Foley, Collins, Graham

With the exception of Richo and Cousins I think the rest in the untouchables are the best players to take us forward. It would take a ridiculous offer to trade any of them. The trade at right price section means just that. Don't trade unless there is a good and fair trade on the table but if there is we can afford to offload some of these players.
Who would you trade and at what price?

no one is really untouchable. except cotchin.

players that we might put up that could excite a little bit of interest.
Simmonds - is 30 but a proven ruckman and goalkicker and they usually get some interest from teams who need one and are looking at pushing for a flag.
Bowden - might interest a team that wants a good veteran that may offer a couple more years of service at a high level. can play anywhere.
Brown - someone might think they can re ignite his career with a change of clubs. is extremely damaging at anywhere near his best.
Pettifer - might interest a club for a cheap deal.
King - how much would we all laugh if he was traded, but opposition supporters dont get why he isnt given a go so maybe another club is stupid enough to think they can teach him some skills.
Hughes - one of the adelaide clubs might be interested but i wouldnt think we would get higher than a low second round pick for him.

Anyone is tradeable with the right offer.
If Melbourne have pick 1 and 2 and offer up both for either Lids or Cotch you would have to look at it.

Untouchable means that no other club can take the player off us no matter what the offer, does it not?

Or do I need a new ****ing dictionary.

Jackson, Graham and Tambling untouchable!! Sheesh what a joke. We have 2 above average players on our list in Deledio and Cotchin, and they are about as close as it gets to untouchable.

Tiger67 got it right that at the end of the day you would look at any trade, but my way of looking at it is the players i mentioned will form the nucleous of a good side, so why go trying to trade them.

Would be a bit harsh to offer up the reigning B&F winner for a trade, and I would be very surprised if Jackson is not well in front at the moment.
Will you ever admit that you were wrong about him????

How am I wrong? He continues to butcher the ball, that will always be a liability. Wonder why he gets a bit of the football? The opposition let him! Deledio and Cotchin will get tagged, players like Jackson, Foley and Tuck will not.

You are so blind to the fact that he has really turned the corner this year.
His effective possession rate is higher than one G Ablett so far this year.
I agree that he does turn it over on occassions but every player does.
Despite your critisism can you put up a name that would be ahead of him in the B&F??

You're comparing him to G.Ablett and calling me blind?

Deledio has been our best player.

You are kidding about Lids
He has had some great games but Jackson would have polled votes in all but 2 games so far this year and no-one would even be close to him consistency wise.
He has not only been winning a lot of the footy but he has been beating quality opponents every week.
Also, to say Im comparing him to Ablett is ridiculous.
It was nothing more than a reference to point out that even the very best have there fair share of ineffective possesions.

If I was the bloke in charge of list management and trading at the end of the season I would be sitting at the Dome with a sign on the door that says all offers will be considered. There is not one player on our list that is untouchable. Naturally some would require much better deals than others to be traded, but I would be listening to every offer that got pitched.

I didn't say I thought Deledio would be leading the B&F, I said he has been our best player.

You can be ineffective, but what about clangers? Jackson is just a run of the mill half glass full type, typical of our list. He is not damaging with the football.

This does not read "Deledio is out best player"
If this does not mean that you think Deledio is winning the best and fairest then who is your choice because Im sure you will not admit it is more than likely Jackson

It is going to depend on your new coach and the term he is given by your club but any player over 30 (including cousins) would be worried I'd say.

OP has too many untouchables.

Geelong don't even have that many players considered untouchable, no club does.

We have 2, Deledio and Cotchin the club wouldn't and shouldn't trade. And probably closer to only one in Cotchin.

Anyone else would be looked at if the right price came. That said, there are many players I'd like to keep, but apart from Cotchin, I'd look at any trade.

so what will it take for you to be wrong. him winning the brownlow and not having a fault in his whole game.

have to laugh at the people who will never accept that the likes of jackson, tambling (and maybe JON if he comes good) are good if not great players. they will always be perceived to be damaged and butchers of the ball because people are too proud to admit that they were wrong. interested in wally matera's views on Jackson's year :D has he won you over yet wally?

Wally has been very quiet in regards to Jackson this year.
At least his silence seems to confirm Jackson has improved in Wally's eyes.
Silly blind beaver remains clueless:p
