Can't believe that the Wobblers aren't after Jenkins. He' miles better than Cox and will come cheaper. For a couple of years while they are in the window it should be a no brainer but Collingwood.
Collingwood aren’t in their window anymore I’m afraid. It slammed shut when they couldn’t beat a depleted GWS on the MCG in the prelim.

They are now completely broken. Grundy wants out. Elliot might be gone. Pendlebury, Sidebottom and Beams are all showing signs of slowing down. Treloar’s burst went with his hammys. ITKs all say De Goey doesn’t give a sh*t and lacks professionalism, plus has persistent hamstring problems. Moore can’t string eight games together. Varcoe, Greenwood, Reid, Goldsack, Dunn and Wells are all finished. Their youth and depth is horrendous and they’ve got no first round draft pick to use this year because they traded it away for Beams (who may never play again). They have salary cap issues. Their key forwards are arguably the worst pairing in the comp. They have constant rumours of infighting, gambling syndicates, drug use and poor culture. They thought 2019 was their year of redemption but it wasn’t. They will struggle to pick themselves up again. Buckley doesn’t have Konrad Marshall’s handbook to bail him out this time either. He sounded like a defeated man last week on SEN. He said losing that prelim was worse than the GF defeat. They are done. Finito.

At the end of last year I compared Collingwood to Fremantle’s 2013 side. I suggested their peak was making a GF and that they will slide after that. Seems like my prediction is coming to fruition.

Grundy will stay, and pies are still a good side

They aren’t a bad side but I’ve put a line through them contending. They put on about four good performances this season (us, Brisbane, WCE & Adelaide). Outside of that they looked very ordinary. They fell across the line in multiple games and had some very favourable umpiring, to the point where it was almost suspicious. They Bradbury’d their way into the four. If they’re a contender next season we will romp it.

Grundy wants 7 years and Pies are refusing to budge. His comments a week ago suggest he’ll be more than happy to walk when he is out of contract. If Pies don’t pony up he’s gone.

I don't think its ridiculous at all.
I used GWS as the comparison given they finished 1 spot behind us therefore their R1 pick is pretty much the same (and have won a lot of games in the past 3 years).

Menadue - has spent the whole year in the reserves and most of his career = Buckley - but you can just replace him with Daniel Lloyd if that helps.
McIntosh - winger who can play half back, in and out of the team = Tomlinson
Pick 2 - Stack (rising star)

These are all fair comparisons. Just because a Macca won a premiership, doesn't mean his trade value is higher than his ability. You trade valuable picks on players ability and more importantly future ability. Packaging up average doesn't equal elite.

End of the day, if we held pick 2 and someone offered Menadue and Kmac, you'd be laughing at their suggestion.
You don’t think it’s ridiculous that menadue can’t crack it in a side that’s won 2 flags in 3y compared to a guy that couldn’t get a game for Carlton that won 2 spoons in as many years , what am i missing. Like Lloyd menadue could quite easily step into most other sides in particular GC
Tomlinson is a very ordinary player , what are his career highlights , ever kicked 3G in a final
You’re clutching at straws

Do you think their slide will be equal to Adelaide's implosion since the 2017 GF?

Also along the Rance scenario:
Trade Nank and next year's 2nd to GWS for #12 (Soldo has stepped up and CCJ/Balta/Chol can handle back up duties)
Trade Rance +#12 +#19 to Gold Coast for #1 and #2. Improves GC backline, culture and shows good players want to go there. Sets us up for the future.
Wow - you’ve clearly been celebrating for a bit longer than the rest of us.
