If you guys can turn one of our 2nds or 3rds into a 1st rounder, then you can take him.....maybe I'll think about it.
Minson for a 1st?

And a guy who seemingly wants out of the kennel.

Seems a bit rich.

A good 2nd rd pick maybe but I reckon a Rd1 is high.

And its not like he is 25.

Minson doesn't want out.

Ok. I had read he was unhappy with BMac's review of his season and that things were a bit tense.

Perhaps im mistaken. It happens.

Is he not OOC with you guys however?

He's got another 2 years on his contract.

Where does Ayce Cordy fit next season? Honest question. I actually rated his game against Sydney (was the 2nd last game)

I think he'll be sticking around next year. He and Tom Campbell formed a very formidable duo in the VFL all year, and I get the feeling we are going to want to try and play them together a bit in the AFL in 2015. If he does come on, I think his best shot is the games where Campbell is selected as the main ruck, which would leave Minson in the VFL, as he sucks up forward. If Minson is in and we want to play a 2nd ruck, it'll be Campbell. If Campbell is in and Minson is out, I think Cordy will get in.

So really, I think he's a bit dependent on Campbell pushing Minson out. I thought he was good against Sydney as well, so I hope he plays a bit more next year.

What is Petrenko's best position? He would be one I'd be interested in.

He is a small forward that plays well defensively. Can be dangerous around goal as Nth Melbourne found out in Indigenous Round last year. The inclusion of Betts and Cameron has seen him pushed a side.

Surely Cordy isn't going to be happy in the VFL. I think you are right don't get me wrong, I just was VERY surprised when he came in, looked very competent in the ruck against a very good ruck duo.

If he actually plays small forward I would be interested, most clubs without a small forward would be. The only issue is I hate stay at home small forwards. Can he spend some minutes in the middle sort of like Betts?

What's the feeling in the WB camp about McKernan? I seem to see you guys being linked to him everywhere.

Well I doubt anyone is happy in the VFL, and want to be playing AFL, but Ayce is too slight to be that number 1 guy in the ruck. He can definitely go in there and do well, as you saw against Sydney, but Campbell and Minson are both much better suited to that role. Just hard to play him with Minson in the side, as Campbell has been in better form all year, and can also play forward.
His confidence is up this year. First year since he's been drafted that he hasn't had any injury problems, which is a big thing for him. If he keeps that going through pre-season, I wouldn't be surprised to see him getting early games.

Haven't heard anything, but we're pretty much linked to every tall player every year :p.
I personally wouldn't want him. I suppose he'd be an alright back up option seeing as we can get him for free.

I personally don't see him as a player I would use in the midfield. But he does spend time there in the SANFL. He could also be used as a small defender.

I know it sounds stupid, but would Cordy be on the table? I just have less confidence than others of Bellchambers getting back to where he was, it is a massive injury for a big man.

Well defenders we are well off! We have too many of them lol. I actually like the idea of Petrenko, a few minutes here and there in the middle adds his trade value. would easily do a 3rd for him.

I doubt it. We'd get pretty much nothing for him due to his injury history and lack of games, and we've stuck by him for the last 6 years. It'd be a bit of a waste to just let him go for nothing. I dare say he'd want to repay the faith we've shown in him as well.
Plus our serious lack of talls is still a problem.

Yeah that's what I thought.
The guy has a ton of talent but has been so frustrating. Could come good in a different environment so may be worth the risk.

Fair enough, was only asking. I dare say if he doesn't get game time next year there will be a lot of clubs asking though. Not sure how cordy helps your 'talls' issue. I know he is tall, but he aint a CHF!

McKernan's issue is that he is such an 'in betweener'. Not fast enough to be a tall midfielder, not tall enough to ruck, and not strong enough to be a KPF. He will get some offers but it will be a throw away pick.

If only we had authority :)

Playing a few minutes here and there in the middle, it just helps. Just so rare to have stay at home small forwards nowadays. Even Ballentyne does it.
