Agree that there'd be more interest in Jones than Griffiths but would have thought there's more talk about latter because Dogs unlikely to be trading Jones? (or am I missing something?)[/QUOTE]
I don't think we will be trading him as such, but I am sure their will be interest from several clubs in a guy who hasn't proven he can/should be the number one forward but certainly could be a good number 2 KPF option. In saying that if we acquired another good tall forward which is all the rage at the moment there is no reason why he can't take his game to a new level in 2015. I'm not sure if he's disgruntled playing in the 2's in the past 4 weeks but he certainly is too good at VFL level.
However this trade period looms the largest on Jones out of any player on our list. It is no secret that we have plenty of money to splash and that both Patton and Reid are the main targets. A lot of our supporters suggest it is unlikely that we will be able to get one as both are required players by their respective clubs. But if the off chance happened and we were able to get one then for the sake of Jones getting back into our best 22 then he would be hoping that it is Reid that comes to the dogs rather than Patton. Particularly as Reid has the flexibility to play 2nd ruck or we could even use him at CHB which in my personal opinion is a greater issue than our forward line. But patton if we managed to get him would solely be anchored to our forward line and Tom Campbell would remain as he currently is as our 2nd ruck/KPF. That could find Jones on the outer.
Hypothetically if we got either of them our forward line would look like
Hunter Patton, Crameri
Campbell, Stringer, Dahlhaus
or
Hunter Reid, Crameri
Stringer, Jones, Dahlhaus.
