Hi Cat fans.

As you know, the Blues are in desparate need of a young ruckman. Pick 1 will not be used for Leuenberger, and by our next pick, number 17, he will be gone. We need to get our hands on another early pick, and the Cats have pick 7. Here are some ideas that I have thought up

Trade 1
Stevens and pick 19->Geelong
Pick 7->Carlton

Trade 2
Fisher and pick 17->Geelong
Pick 7->Carlton

Trade 3
Houlihan and pick 19->Geelong
Pick 7->Carlton

None of these are totally unrealistic, and would help both teams out. What do you think about them? Also, if you disagree with them, what do you think is realistically a good trade for pick 7?

No way. Pick 1 is UNTOUCHABLE.

What do you think of my trades?
hmm not sure but i wouldnt guarantee luenberger too be around at pick 7...you would be better off trying to get pick 5 or something so you can nearly be sure you will get him

I think he would still be around

Carlton: Gibbs
Essendon: Gumbleton
Kangaroos: Hansen
Brisbane: Thorp
Port: Sellar
Hawthorn: Riewoldt/Selwood
CARLTON/GEELONG: Leuenberger

Of course he may not be around by then, but Essendon, Kangaroos, Brisbane and Hawthorn will not take another ruckman. Port may, but Sellar is a SA boy, and Port would not be in any danger of losing him due to the go home factor. If they take Leuenberger, we take Sellar, who may be able to play in the ruck as well. Or we just take another midfielder like Proud or Selwood.

Nah, sorry Jeremias. Geelong will only be trading our first round pick if it was for a mega bargain, eg Marc Murphy or in a way to get your No.1 pick which is unrealistic and not going to happen.

I'm not saying that your ideas are unrealistic, just that Geelong would really want to keep that first round pick.

nick stevens???? the last thing geelong needs is another "outside" midfielder who wears a dress on game day, he is as soft as butter not what geelong needs, they could do with someone like a sam mitchell or a martin mattner.

Don't like any of them. We might look at Fevola though.

I would have thought Marty Mattner was more of a dashing wingman.

I don't think we have many 'outside' midfielders anyway.

Realistically, Brendan Fevola is the only bloke on your list that would walk into Geelong's "best 22".

Despite the year we've just had in '06 I think our list is streets ahead and we're more likely to trade with Brisbane for Bradshaw or another club for a player who can have an immediate impact.

Remember too that Geelong effectively has a #1 or #2 draft pick in the 3rd round with Tom Hawkins so I don't think they'll entertain lop sided trades with below average players.

Come on, that's rediculous. Simpson, Scottland, Murphy, and Waite for starters would all be part of our best 22.

Wouldn't really be interested in anything from Carlton. We need a speedy midfielder that has a long kick. Selwood and Proud come to mind and should be available at pick 7.

We also have a top 3 pick in Hawkins in the third round, therefore don't need another tall forward in the mix. This gives us great opportunities to grab good midfielders.

Pick 19 Pick 17 and Kade Simpson for Pick 7.

well never happen mate.

Got a question is Wojcinski up for grabs. Cause there have been specualtions of a 3 way deal betweenus you and collingwood. So I was thinking.

Carlton get: Wojcinski pick 7
Geelong get: tarrant pick 17 and pick 28 i think
Collingwood get: Stevens and pick 59

wat do u think?

that could work, stevens was supposed to go to the pies when he left port except the power and collingwood couldn't work a deal

Mmmmmmmm it isnt too bad for us, but I doubt we will part with pick 7. Swap pick 7 with Kelly and I'd do it.

Carlton are laughing with that deal. Collingwood aren't.

The whole point for carlton is he want pick 7 to try and snatch leuenberger. And the reason its all talk about Geelong is becuase you are allready getting a star in Hawkins so maybe you would be able to part with it

C'mon.

Lance would walk in - and Geelong would give the keys to the city if Waite went there. At least Simpson goes and get the ball and Walker would be the highest paid player at geelong - except for Nathan Ablett -.

Do not overate your list. It is slow and non competitive - except when there is nothing to play for - or when the Prada 50% off sale has finished.

ok lets move on from the blues rejects, who from adelaide would you like to see geelong trade for? (keep them realistic) eg. no mcleods or goodwins

Depends if they wants Mackie or not. If they are keen and he's keen then perhaps something involving Messen, or maybe Brent Rielly, dont mind him.

i would have though meesen too, but he just signed a new 2 year contact.
i though maybe a reilly, skipworth or a jericho for perhaps james kelly or cameron ling??

also a rumour doing the rounds in adelaide was kent kingsley, see how he goes for one year, if he does sh1t delist him and hentschel will be back for '08

Kingsley and Mackie for Brent Reilly or Marty Mattner (and maybe a third round draft pick) would do me nicely. Didn't put a whole lot of thought into it but at least I would be happy :D

would also be interested in
Doughty
Knights
Vince
Douglas
Porplyzia
but they would probably need icing.
