So Carlton get what is equivalent to two third round picks for Fevola. The guy is a top player. He is probably worth Rodan, Merret, richmond's second and brisbane's third rounder.

Fevola worth a first and third round pick at least, possibly more. If he was up for trade would be mint to either Cats or Eagles as hed be missing piece. We gave two first rounders for our 'missing piece' last season

I must say if Ottens is worth 2 first rounders then Fev must be worth something more than 2nd or 3rd rounders and fringe players . He would kick 80 to 100 every year in a good side.

Fev cannot be traded. He signed a new deal this year, wants to stay at Carlton and cannot be traded against his will.

That's the thing, Ottens never was worth 2 first round picks. Geelong were desperate and Greg Miller took full advantage of the situation

Cant judge Fev's worth by compaing what Ottens went for, Geelong let themselves get robbed.

That is correct , but Fev is definately worth a lot more than what is being suggested so far

I'd offer pick 8 and a fringe player, or someone like Tivendale/Chaffey.

Maybe Krakouer and a 2 or 3rd round pick.

Other thing is that Ottens can play ruck and around the ground, Fev is a Full Foward only, and always will be.

So while Geelong paid over the price for Ottens, he still has more value, and dare I say it.. potential than Fev.

It's bloody hard to unbiasedly guage a players trade value/worth.

Ottens will probably end up being ok for Geelong if he can stay injury free. He will always be the player they gave away too much for but he could end up being decent for them.

As for Fev , yes i agree a first rounder and a fringe player or a decent player and a second rounder. He kicked 50 or so goals this year in a dud side didnt he? (im too lazy to research).
I dont have any doubt he would consistantly kick over 70 a year in a good side.
