I love evaluating possible trade scenarios, and the current need at MFC is certainly a good KPF or seriously quick midfielders with good foot skills. The following i feel are players that MFC could target but im unsure how much they are worth and what chance MFC have of getting them.

Danyel Pearce
Ryan Griffen
Brett Deledio
David Wojinski
Brett Peake
Daniel Kerr
Andrew Lovett/Winderlich
Daniel Wells

Pearce would be the ultimate for me, absolute jet who is yet to realise his full potential

Pearce doesn't seem to burst through packs though. He tends to run around them.

How old is Wojac? He'd definitely be the most accessible. Kerr would be too old. Griffen would be very good but a bit too expensive. I wouldn't bother with Peake.

Hate to shoot you down but...
Danyel Pearce - not confident we would get the best out of him
Ryan Griffen - impossible
Brett Deledio - impossible
David Wojinski - games gone past him
Brett Peake - can't kick
Daniel Kerr - impossible
Andrew Lovett/Winderlich - impossible
Daniel Wells - no thanks

I say we trade Liam Jurrah to Freo for their first round pick and Liam Jurrah.

Everybody wins and it's realistically possible.

How about we throw in our 3rd rounder for their 2nd rounder?

You know...just to even things out a little.

Thats fine buddy haha, but i dont reckon games gone past wojo, still has okay foot skills and has electrifying speed. If you think all the others are not feasible, then are there any other players similar tot his mould that we may potentially target. (Obviously most likely scenario is we wont get any of these)

Is it that time of the year yet where Big Footy explodes in a million different trade scenarios which are completely unbalanced and stupid?

Cue somebody trying on Bartram and a 3rd rounder for Pavlich

I don;t see the obssesion with wanting to trade for players, some of those players on that list of course you wud trade for but the likes of Winderlich, Lovett (despite bn on trade list last yr), deledio, griffen are on touchable at their club. Players like Wonkinski, Pearce are not worth it, especially pearce he is over rated, is quick put poorly skilled he loves kicking helicopters!!!

Plus we already have one super quick skilled player his name is Sam Blease!!!

I say we give Freo some magic beans for Pavlich and their first rounder...

I think that last years draft will hopefully mean that we dont need to trade for these players.

Strauss, Blease, Bennell, Jetta all have great pace and with the exception of Jetta good foot skills.

If we can add scully and another mid in this draft we will have a really young group of these guys, all about the short term pain for long term gain.

Dont forget Buckley and Sylvia hopefully these guys will be our game and line breakers.

Danyel Pearce - Not value for money
Ryan Griffen - Too expensive
Brett Deledio - Too expensive
David Wojinski - Can't kick
Brett Peake - Can't kick
Daniel Kerr - Not value for money
Andrew Lovett/Winderlich - Not value for money
Daniel Wells - Not value for money

We've got to develop our own here.

These trades will never happen and we do have an explosive mid coming through...sam blease

As said previous, with Blease, Strauss, Sylvia, Davey, Buckley etc and potentially Scully and another good mid from this year's draft, I think we'll have a good balance of inside-outside mids in the very near future.

IF we are to trade for anything, a big, strong marking forward would be it. We've got some serious talent in the forward line but it's all small-to-mid sized players we've got.....

Not saying we'll get someone like Roughead, but someone like him would really straighten us up at FF and give us that long-kick, get out of jail option.

I dont think we will see much from Bleasey till late 2011, untill he gets a good fitness base. But when we do start to see something from him, WATCH THE ***** OUT!

O'Keefe would be one of the very few names thrown around I think. Obviously wanted out last year, he didn't pen a 2-3 yr deal or anything did he? Wants to come to Victoria. Would certainly take him, but would cost at least our 3rd pick assuming we have #1 and ~#4.

I think the club is dead set on drafting the talent though, which makes sense.

Danyel Pearce - too soft and inconsistent
Ryan Griffen - love him but would never get him
Brett Deledio - richmond wouldn't give that up
David Wojinski - NO freaking way!
Brett Peake - WHAT?? NO FREAKING WAY!!! he is a dud.
Daniel Kerr - love him but not sure how much we would have to pay
Andrew Lovett/Winderlich - maybe lovett but dont wanna give up much, no on winderlich.
Daniel Wells - probably the best call of the bunch, could see him shine at a new club.

Pearce would be the ultimate for me, absolute jet who is yet to realise his full potential

Trading would involve us giving up draft picks.

So no thankyou.

Spot on, the only players over 23 we should look at wud be through the PSD.

This post is spot on. We have already addressed the lack of pace in our midfield in previous drafts. It is just that we haven’t seen them in the midfield yet for various reasons. We don’t need to started trading away picks to address a problem that has already been solved.

David Wojinski - Can't kick

Yeah, there is nothing more exhilarating then watching Wojinski grab the ball in the back line and sprint away from the opposition players at blistering speeds.........only to fudge the kick and watch the ball re-enter our defensive 50 at the speed of light.

I would have though Melbourne already had enough of these players.....minus the speed ofcourse :p:p:p.

Given the stage that Melbourne is at, I doubt trading for a 29 year old is the wisest move. Need to draft young and hope that they develop.
