not a chance

I'm changing my mind again...no trading of our top picks.

At this rate we'll get the first two picks...trade tivers and we might get another good pick. Let's use them on the future champs. The centre square might be alrady here anyway :
On -ball : Ottens, Coughlan, Rodan...Centre : fiora.
Roatate : Hilton, Poyas, Zantuck, Ednie.

I hope the coaching staff share your opinion!
My hope is we can get an early 2nd round pick for tivs a 3rd round for king and with our early first round pick a good possie in the draft..

The only player on our list who is worth a 1st round pick(imo) and is tradeable is Bowden but even him i would be reluctant to let him go for anything less than a top 5-6 pick..For all his faults still a very good player..

Btw i have heard that this years draft is weaker than last year...

Is that because the top 10-15 players are very good but it drops down after that or perhaps the top 10-15 are fairly average but after that its pretty solid..Or even from top to bottom its pretty weak?
Anyone know??

Look, one things for certain out of any draft. Every year will produce at least ten 200 game players. Each draft will produce at least half a dozen premiership players. Possibly a Brownlow medallist. Probably a club best and fairest somewhere etc..

They're out there ... it's just picking the right ones before everyone else does ....

Ghost, you will find that ok.crows is a rare breed indeed - a Crows supporter with some common sense!

There are some clubs who would entertain a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Tivendale - maybe Carlton who could do with a running player.

We would not get a cracker for Clinton King (not even Nathan Eagleton B1954!)

The ONLY way we would trade Bowden was if a Trent Croad like deal was able to come up. This means having a club willing to give up pick #1 AND a player like Judd/Hodge in the draft. Otherwise, forget it!

As for the talent in this years draft - more will be known at the end of this week as the annual Teal Cup championships are on.

Kane Johnson yes, he wanted to go home to Melbourne. Goodwin was not offered.

Anyway, sorry mate, but you have got the entire wrong end of the stick here, in that Adelaide were willing to trade Kane Johnson for Ben Holloand.

Johnson is the better player of the two, Holland is just bigger & can take a key position.

This was a pretty fair deal as Adelaide offered it, Adelaide needed a key position player, Tigers needed a good midfielder. Kane Johnson has been the best midfielder this season amongst a pretty good bunch in Adelaides midfiled. Yes, I do mean better even than McLeod.

...

Johnson complements the other Adelaide midfielders nicely as he is able to provide a lot of polish to your impressive bevy of grunts.

Richmond's situation is the opposite. We have more skilful, polished. flashy wingman types running players than you could poke a stick at (Tivendale, Fiora, Campbell, Bowden, Houlihan, Pettifer, ... etc) but nowhere near enough ball winnners.

If it had been Ricciuto (hypothetical) on the table instead of Johnson - assuming that they are both roughly equal in terms of ability - then Ben Holland would have been on a plane quicker than you could say "Filthy Player Manager!"

That is because Ricciuto is the type of player we need - not Johnson.

Roatate : Hilton, Poyas, Zantuck, Ednie.

I am convinced that Poyas has told someone to Far Cough and won't get another game again. This is the only rational explanation I can come up with!

It was apparent to me during the Melbourne and Freo games that he had the ability to cut it at the top level - he just isn't being given the chance.

rodan #18 ....... I think you're living in dreamland if you have poyas and ednie marked down as the future of the midfield. They might turn out to be good players, but we just don't know yet. But I like the idea of coughlan, rodan and fiora in there. can dragga make it back? will he be any good?
