logue is very versatile, can play defense, and did so for most of 2016, but towards the end of the season, was run through the middle and did very well.
Do we want to risk another player that is only potential for the midfield instead of getting a genuine midfielder?
How'd he go in the midfield?

I've seen a bit of Logue and personally he just reminds me of Schofield. Good endurance, but i don't see anything which suggest he'd be particularly good in the midfield at all. His decision making and hands in congestion aren't anything to write about IMO.

I'd prefer to take a pure midfielder with that pick.

Hawthorn can dump four time premiership players like Mitchell and Lewis without a problem, but we can struggle to drop players like Masten or Lecras from the team for a week. That, my friends is a football club with guts.

Yep fairly obvious now the Hawks are going for a rebuild. And their supporters are whinging on their board... not like they won 3 flags in a row or anything.

Swallow?

Good ball hunter, but average pace and sub-par disposal. Add to that his injury history - he'd be a pass for me.
Fair enough. Haven't seen a whole heap of him, but of what I did see he was great in the contest, rarely out of the contest or pushed out, didn't really notice his disposal being too bad, and didn't really strike me as someone particularly slow. The few games I saw, he took some nice marks too, not really sure if that is something he does consistently.

Injuries are a worry though for someone so young. If word on the North medical is anything to go by, he will be 100% ok once recovered/rehabbed. Not sure how much of that to believe though.

We already have Sheed, Redden, Priddis and now Mitchell. He isn't adding materially to what we already have.

Harley Bennell, O'Meara etc are the highly skilled inside/outside types we need IMO.

I'd hate to be JOM if his body doesn't hold up or he's lost his form...there'll be a lynching down Hawthorn way!!
Hope his girlfriend doesn't decide to move to Sydney later on

Not much of a rebuild if you are losing Sam Mitchell and Lewis and replacing them with younger talents in Tom Mitchell and O'Meara. Hawks after this trade period will still have a side capable of winning the flag.

I still cant get over how we didnt make a play for him last trade period.

Because of his well known issues. Not worth the risk to us.

Get in the ear of O'Meara and bring the lad home.

Trade our first and Schofield and bring eMac back into the best 22.

Make it happen - a fit O'Meara is exactly what we need.

It's been covered ad nauseum, O'Meara is moving to Melbourne because that's where his girlfriend wants them to go.
So it's not happening him moving back to WA.

A lot of water to go under the bridge before you can say they've done that without a problem though

They're trading out their B&F and runner up from 2016 for bags of chips and whilst it's expected they'll get the omeara trade done it's still not official. Nor is it guaranteed they'll be able to fix his knees

The trades of Lewis and Mitchell have also only cleared cap space and aren't helping get trades done. To do get JOM and T Mitchell they've traded out their first round picks for this year and next plus hill plus their 2nd rounder and possibly another player like hartung

Everyone is giving the Hawks leeway because it's hawthorn and they're smart but there's a lot going out the door for vickery, Mitchell and omeara. And their not blessed with an abundance of young talent either

Gutsy yes. Time will tell if it's smart or stupid

Still don't understand this. The guy must be extremely whipped, or she is a 12/10.

Isn't he from Gero/Dongara as opposed to Perth anyway?

I'm not from Perth originally so moving to Melbourne was easier than it would have been if I grew up in Perth. I don't feel a strong connection to Perth (and sure as hell not going back to the country town I grew up in) so there's less of a go-home factor.

Perhaps that is influencing things.
