if they add on pick #25 too it's a great Win for us! :) it's a Win either way but it'd be nice we can then use it else where.

And, at the very least, pick 37 from us. Plus something for armstrong

What do you think you'll do with them?

Crouch looks beaut. Nice one (centurion)

Trade for Players probably a young KPP perhaps Tom Lynch...... who knows really KPD are the only thing where we don't have much depth with the loss of Bock, Davis, Stevens we only really have Talia, Young, L.Thompson and of course Rutten

One thing I love about Brown is his pace. He has serious speed to burn and knows how to pick the right gaps to break the lines.

Also a good decision maker and very neat kick. Is he better than pick 14? Probably not but we're still getting a good player if this supposed trade goes through.

Would be a good small running defender to have alongside Matty Jaensch.

Saints want a second rounder for Lynch.
Is it possible we jumped early on the Gunston deal to get us an expendable second rounder to send there?
If that's the case and we get Hawthorn's first rounder and Lynch and the extra upgrade of the third round, it could be considered good trading.
Better than waiting until the death knock to trade Gunston and either missing out on Lynch or having to resort to using our own second rounder to get him.
Possibly even, we needed 2 second rounders. 1 to get Lynch, 1 to get Richmond's offer up from 37 to the Bock pick?

From what I've seen and heard of him, he reminds me a bit of Jared Crouch from Sydney (also a Norwood boy) who was a pretty decent player for them.

Wow if this turns out to be the case, we've played our hand pretty well. Can Lynch fill Gunston's position?

To an extent. Like Gunna, he's good at creating space and using hands to put his teammates to advantage. He presents well at the ball and is good at getting front position.

That said, he doesn't have that extra class and flair of Gunna nor the athletic attributes. He's a workhorse but he's not able to make his opponents look silly like Gunston will in the next ten years.

I don't mind Lynch but I don't think he has any real star qualities either. I prefer it when he meets the ball, as opposed to moving towards goal, but I could see him becoming a decent third tall ala Maxwell as he's quite good in the air. Probably doesn't have the height for a genuine CHB/FB spot.

To be honest I'm not overly keen on this one and am hopeful we have something else in the pipeline.

So our forward line would effectively be more static than what it'd be with Gunston in the side? I guess this means that Wright, Porplyzia (or Callinan) would be required to make a significant impact in order to account for the athleticism and crumbing ability we lost with Gunna. Otherwise we might have issues similar to what the Eagles' forwardline of Kennedy, Lynch, Darling, Cox/Naitanui (Lycett) do when rain and slipperiness play a part (eg. Rd 23 vs Brisbane at the GABBA. Not that it made any difference the following week in Perth :( )

Tom Lynch, again I say...SERIOUSLY ADELAIDE?????????????

If we can get him for cheap I don't have any real issue with it. I think he has something to offer and is at least worth a look. The depth of KPs in this draft is pretty poor, though I do hope we give a look at Sam Frost who has some exciting attributes.

I do think we're better off looking at other options though. There's only so many picks to shop around and I hardly view Tom as a world-beater. Would rather go for a rough diamond than a polished stone.

Tom Lynch, a Victorian that wants to come to Adelaide? i wonder if he sees greater opportunities at the Crows (and thus chose them as his preferred club), or the Crows aproached his manager (with an offer) once we realised we'd lost Gunston?

If the rumour is true - likely both. The second caused the first.

In regards to Luke Brown this is from Knightmare's Phantom Draft Page. If it's accurate Heath Shaw for 14 sounds about right:)

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=843582

Luke Brown (SA – Def/Util)
Height: 181cm, Weight: 79kg, DOB: 22/09/1992
Recruited from: Norwood
Style: Heath Shaw
Player comparison:
Range: 15-45
Profile: Has a great burst of speed from defence and isn’t afraid to use it and take on opposition forwards when he has ball in hand. Really nice skills. Reads it really well. Strong overhead for size. Solid defensively. Is that year older but looks too good not to be on an AFL list.
Why:

Got a funny feeling we may get pick 25 or a later pick on top of Brown and Crouch.

When you think about, GWS were unlikely to committ to Brown and had no right to Crouch. Yes we are getting a good deal, but they are getting two first rounders for NOTHING.

Throwing in Pick 25 when you have Picks 1,2,3,4,5,7,9,11,13,14 and now 10 from us, I hardly think losing Pick 25 will hurt them and it will strengthen our position.

thought I would post this one for hte lulz

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl/brad-ebert-can-pack-his-bags-for-port/story-e6freco3-1226165321199

my favorite two parts

GEELONG has failed to derail out-of-contract West Coast midfielder Brad Ebert's return to Port Adelaide.

The AFL premier yesterday chased Ebert - and then publicly denied preparing a deal for the Eagles to outbid the Power with draft picks.

But with Ebert, 21, needing to approve any trade - and refusing to consider any offer that takes him away from his family and home in Adelaide - the Cats are forced to shelve their ambitious plans to rejuvenate their player list.

and

Ebert is expected to ignore a late play by Adelaide, the club that overlooked him in the first round of the 2007 national draft to claim Victorian Patrick Dangerfield.

After first indicating it would leave Ebert to the Power, Crows list manager David Noble last night declared Adelaide was prepared to reconsider.

The Crows could outbid Port by offering the No. 24 draft pick it claimed from Hawthorn yesterday for homesick Victorian forward Jack Gunston.

As with the Geelong ploy, Ebert would have to approve a trade to Adelaide. His memory of the 2007 draft may lead to very short - and fruitless - talks with Crows recruiting manager Matt Rendell.

is he just opening barracking for the Power now? seriously the first part is just plain wrong - and hilariously funny and the 2nd part is written like he is trying to convince the AFC not to talk to him.

Rucci has clearly already left for Italy.

why does Rucci assume everyone else acts like bitchy teenage girls?

he needs to realise its just him.

he's just embarrassing himself. he's proven over the last month he has no real sources of any value. all he writes these days is emotive garbage designed to outrage people with limited intelligence.

compare his drivel with Emma Quayle's pieces this week.

With Hutchy reporting that mark seaby is meeting with port today, do port have enough currency to land both seaby and Ebert? Would require giving up pick 8 or a player I would have thought to get both.
